The AMD Driver Thread

Where is Vulkan when you need it? Besides DX11, Mantle is the only other API that actually works properly for me. DX12 giving worse performance and not even working for me in Hitman. :p

Nothing but a black screen using DX12 in Hitman, and worse performance than DX11 in ROTTR.

Noticing odd issues with this game when going from outside to indoor situations and vice versa soo then is this a game issue or an AMD driver issue.... Stand in same spot, move camera around

Like I said, I thought I noticed some issues with looking at indoor areas and going in them but that above is probably the worst case so far.

Hmmm, I am going to guess that this is an AMD driver issue as battlefront had a very similar problem.
 
I see people are also having problems with them not detecting all their games, well they don't for me either, only had 6 detected, GTA V, Fear, Dirt, Tomb Raider Legend, Stalker Lost Alpha, and Stalker SOC, also had 3D Mark 11 detected, doesn't matter to me though, as i never use the profiles, i just set the global settings, and use them for everything. :p
 
Hi. We are some users to have a problem with Freesync with every drivers past 15.12. It seems concern all MG279Q + 290(X and non X) users but perhaps others monitor.

The screen goes "out of sync" pretty often to the max supported refresh rate (89Hz in the case of the MG279Q) even if the frame rate is in the freesync range (35-90). I tried with a lot of games and I get a lot of 89hz even if the game is running at 40-50fps especially when you're walking or moving the camera.

With freesync normally the framerate should be egal with refresh rate.

This isn't a problem related to low framerate compensation since you can see 40-50 fps average on the tested games end even doubling the framerate can't can go up to 89Hz. (if less 35, like 20fps, LFC = FPS * 2 = 40Hz in the fs range).

That's worked in my favour, I have over a thousand games installed across 7 tb's of drives that made trying to move through the Crimson menu's slower than a snail race, Now it only detects 19 games and works fine :D That'll do me I don't do individual settings per game, RAPTR still detects them all and works okay though.

Not sure about that mate I have played this 30 hours so far almost rank 30 and I not had this happen to me.
 
Just having a look at my MSI AB readout and it seems like 16.3 has broken something, I uV my GPU to -31mv and the temps hardly ever went above 75 at most with no more than 55% fan speed at the most, now....

Depends on the area tbh some parts with a lot of AO performance just isn't worth it @1440p every setting is even more demanding.
Object detail is on 60% and everything else am sure is on highest minus nvidia stuff.

I'll after check.

At stock maybe but like I said I undervolt mine to -31mv and temps on average are 66-73 with a fan speed of about 45-50%
