The AMD Driver Thread

Rolled back to 16.7.3 and it's perfect.

Problems I was having is my 290 core clock fluctuates all over the plaec when gaming, playing Shogun 2 yesterday and the clock was dropping to 300mhz at some points causing stuttering so I use gpu tweak to force max clocks, gpu tweak refused to work with the relive drivers and I had two system lock ups.

16.7.3 and gpu tweak from asus is perfect, have a keyboard shortcut for max clocks and desktop clocks.

Have you tried ClockBlocker?

I used it for a bit when my Fury was doing similar a while back.

Was using the new ReLive drivers and had to roll back to 16.11.5 to get it stable, the latest drivers my FPS is all over the place and thats with vsync locked in. Games that were pushing 100+fps are now anything from 2 - 110fps!

Anyone tried the new ones from today, 16.12.2?

Right, who wants to be the guinea pig for the new drivers?. :D I'd do it but I don't have the time until Friday (2 weeks off!!!!!) plus my dinner is ready.

I'm looking forward to the results minions!.

I'll be installing tonight but there again 16.12.1 have been rock solid for me.

Ah, I thought the general concensus was that everybody had a problem with these drivers and that's why I updated to 16.11.5 last night, avoiding 16.12.1.

Regardless, I look forward to seeing your results and hope that others problems have been rectified.

Just remember people with a issue post on forums ;)
Doesn't mean the driver will have issue on your rig.
The general concern seems to be a conflicting issue with other software.
Also networking latency issue when Relive is enabled seems to only effect WiFi users from my information I seen.

I have had no problems even with latest drivers on my 280x OC, but then don't install all the bloat driver wise, it'll be interesting to see how it goes with my 480 once it arrives.

I hope they bring back the saturation settings etc, miss that.

Yes, which is obviously nonsense. Why would I want to record my entire desktop to record footage from the game I'm playing. No other DVR works that way. Even Window 10s DVR knows how to do it right!

Am not sure, maybe the GPU software for the built in encoder needs fullscreen to perform well.
Maybe it would be nice if they can add screen section recording, Action has this feature.

How does Shadow Play handle this? If it's the same and only records fullscreen this will lead me to believe the encoder must be in full screen to perform well.

True, didn't think about it like that. I'll give them a try on Friday after work and hope there's no conflict with Afterburner. Even if I have no luck with the new driver set I can simply go back to what I'm using now.

I'm always hard wired for my internet connection so I'm fine there. Only my phone uses the wireless signal.

I should just give them a try and see how they perform, seems I was a bit pessimistic in reading as I thought everybody had problems with the ReLive driver.

Saturation settings will return though as too many will kick up about it. Enjoy the 480 when it comes!.
