The AMD Driver Thread

I get the UVD clock bug with pretty much every driver, its gotten to the point where i just have to disable hardware acceleration in everything and not use certain software that triggers the UVD clocks because as soon as the UVD clocks get called they get stuck.

It's been this way forever and AMD show no interest in fixing it.

Just keep on putting in regular bug reports about it, That's what I do when I have an issue. I'm sure they'll get to it. Include plenty of data too, I copy paste it into a empty file for ease of use.

Switching from AMD to Nvidia on Christmas Day - Do I just need the AMDCleanupUtility.exe from their website to wipe the drivers from my system or is there anything else I need to do?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

When ive gone from AMD to Nvidia, ive just removed the drivers from the Programs and Features, running the Install Manager, Uninstall all, then after the reboot, i shut down and swap the cards, then just installed the new drivers for the new card, never had a problem, no need for a DDU, turn around 3x etc... ritual, as both their drivers can be on at the same time, has been like that since XP, and especially now with Win 10 and Dx12, as you can now use a Nvidia card and an AMD one working together to boost performance, ala Multi-GPU.

I never had issues either, did over the top installs and even just replaced an old AMD card with a new 480 and had no issues, all I need to do now is recalibrate my display with my Spyder Express device tonight(prefer doing it night time) since I've a new different video card.

I do have one minor pet issue, AMD keeps removing my Asus Xonar as default sound when you install new drivers, sure it's only a few seconds to set Xonar as the default sound, but it should just leave it alone.

Finally updated top 16.12.2 after over two months of nothing touching anything new.

They're stable, which is what I like the most. Alt tabbing out of games has been much smoother, and the odd bug I had in WoW where my water textures are black sometimes are gone as well.

Even got a tiny performance gain. Overall quite happy with AMD drivers lately.
Certainly a far better experience than NVIDIA's was for me in 2015.

I've just got my new build up and running, and now comes the question, where is the best place to get up to date drivers for the rx480?

Here's the place to get them.
