The AMD Driver Thread

Ah well. My R290 just started flickering like mad in the top quarter of the screen with the 16.12.2 Relive Drivers. It was totally fine for the past 4 days or so. Already filled out a bug report form so I'm off to hunt for the older pre-relive drivers. This is the last thing I needed.

Edit: Not touched Wattman or anything either.

huh maybe that is way i get random corruption in SWTOR on my rx 480.. using the same 16.12.2 driver.

I am going to be sticking with 16.11.5 for quite a long time, relive drivers are still just too buggy for most people it seems, besides, there is no need for me to update anyway as I don't need/use any of the new features.

I have stuck with 6.11.2, when using the latest version of the drivers I had game crashes to desktop (the division) and I had no issues previously.

I'm very happy with latest drivers, however did not install the Relive part since I've no interest in that.

I think a lot owners want to see the old saturation, gamma setting settings back.

Quick gamma is a good alternative to the built in GPU drivers although personally I hate using these programs as it creates an .icc profile and they never stick for certain games so I just use the built in monitor calibration controls.

I use my SpyderExpress hardware calibration, but like to turn saturation up a touch in AMD CP.

@nashathedog

So it looks like the 24" and 27" Samsungs are both Freesync.. is the 27" at 1080p going to be fine quality wise or should i get the 24"?

27" would be better for me as im getting older (48 soon) my eyes are not as good as they used to be for close up stuff, is the 27" still gona be good quality? Some people are telling me to go for the 24" because of picture quality.

Does Afterburner still have issues with relive or has it been updated? or fixed with 16.12.2?

I'm on 16.12.1 & have had no problems with them, but what to use afterburner for something and saw reports of crashing with it & the new drivers.

Hi,

27" is good, some people think it's too big for 1080p but I was on a 27" 1080p panel before going ultrawide and though it was fine, Plus you have VSR (Virtual Super Resolution) so you can change it too 1440p or 4k which still look good even though they're not native.

Just messing around with ReLive recording software, 1440p gameplay at 100fps+ but recorded at 1080p60 for YouTube...I dont know why but the playback just doesn't appear smooth to me. When I'm recording, there seems to be no frame loss at all, or very miminal at least, but after uploading video seems bit jerky to me. What you think?

Seems smooth to me, so maybe it's a problem with network/browser playback or youtube encoding?

Edit: I'm using Firefox with the HTML 5 player.

Yep Juddering.

Also shows some hitching for me (chrome), it is rather minor though.

I am pretty pleased with MSI AB recording after using someones suggested settings on reddit:

Still not quite as buttery smooth as some of the big youtubers footage though.
