The AMD Driver Thread

@Panos sadly even with these max temps, and a much better fan profile I still get little artifacting. Not nearly as severe as before; but it's still there. You can even make out some of them on that screenshot.
As soon as something is using plenty of VRAM the issues kick in; despite the temps.

Seems an RMA is sadly in order.

Well funnily enough... updated my drivers to the latest and now also getting the exact same problems as @N19h7m4r3.

Deus ex looks the same with those black streaks/missing/stretched textures and hitman is having some weird occurrences....

Thing is, I've rolled back to different previous drivers, and I get little artifacts on the desktop and chrome as well :(

Maybe the drivers were the catalyst, but even with max temps never exceeding the low 50's I still get issues.

Main problem is how intermittent it is, can go hours without issue, and then all hell breaks loose. :/
Been recording as much as possible on my phone to have as proof for the RMA, as the sporadic and random nautre of it has me worried it might not get spotting in some early/quick RMA tests.

17.3.2 without relive installed.

I will give it some more time and test other games, if still the same then I'll roll back to the previous drivers.

Yup it certainly seems like the drivers have ****** something up, too much of a coincidence for your problems as well as mine to just start after installing the new drivers...

I haven't seen any issues on the desktop yet although going by what you have posted, it probably won't be long until that happens :/

My temps are also fine, max temp is 79 with a max fan speed of 59% (GPU is undervolted to -31mV and has been for 2+ years now) for the main core so for a 290, that's good. Not sure about the VRM temps, will monitor them later.

It is odd though as, those glitches in hitman are only happening when inside the building, not outside and likewise for deus ex, it is only happening in certain areas.

And yup I know the feeling, that is why I held of RMA'ing my 290 when I first got it (blue screens, crashing etc.) as from googling, every thing was pointing towards drivers/something on my end and unless ocuk saw the problems on their test system, they wouldn't class it as faulty and as a result, you have to cover shipping fees then :o

I was going to be upgrading my GPU at some point this year anyway so as long as my 290 lasts till vega, I won't mind too much if is on its way out :p

I run multi monitor so when the little buggers appear in the games they spread to the other windows as well it seems.

So far it hasn't gone as mental as before like in the video, but those little buggers do still appear after a while in games, or benchmarks. No crashes yet, to mass black dots flickering everywhere.

I'm currently on 16.12.2 again though, and it's better.

What you should do is try and change the monitor refresh rate while in game, or from Fullscreen to Windowed Borderless. That causes the engine to redraw everything, and often removes the little glowing artifacts for me.

EDIT! Bugger me! I spoke to soon! WHY is it so random! Hours of no issues, and then BAM all hell breaks loose. Temps are still fine as well. 51 degrees for the GPU package :/

I spent all day running Heaven, TimeSpy,Firestrike, and Conan Exiles, and now that it's started again it won't stop. :/

It certainly livens up the game! :D :p

Haven't noticed the issue in other games yet + on a new level of hitman and not had any issues  Will try division now as it really pushes my PC.

Didn't notice anything on division during gameplay then went to mark all the junk I picked up and got the same flickering as in hitman but it was only happening on my character:

It was flickering to quickly to get a screenshot of when it was at its worse so you can only see very small bits of it around the jacket.

Well a friend was kind enough to let me borrow a GTX 980Ti, and after 2 hours of running the same games, and benchmarks; not a single artifact in sight; anywhere.

Already boxed up my Fury X, and now to deal with the RMA to Germany. Damn shame really
I loaded up Overwatch to show him some of the issues. At least I have plenty of little videos as proof for the RMA as well.

This is the driver thread, not an RMA thread. Don't clutter up this thread with your RMA issues.
