The AMD Driver Thread

Mine is not usb. Wonder if it's that, maybe amd expect everyone to be using usb gamer headsets etc.

I've tried with both the onboard sound and a soundblaster Z, both are low, but only in relive. It's a modmic 4.0 and it's fine everywhere else. Easy issue to fix if AMD just let you adjust mic volume in relive.

Just going to quote myself to give some context incase anyone else has the issue and needs a fix.

I've fixed my relive issue. After a bit of searching, it seems lots of people were complaining of low input in various things including relive, with both onboard and soundcards. Simple fix was a Sabrent usb audio adapter, lots of reviews of it specifically mentioning modmic etc.

Got one and that fixed it. Relive is much louder now and I had to turn down discord etc. So I guess maybe a lot of soundcards/onboard have questionable mic inputs. Even antlion do their own usb adapter that is apparently a recommended item by them.

Just tried The Evil Within for the first time and on the latest drivers it's a stuttering mess for me. 7 Days to Die is still broken in the all Re-live drivers (reported it a few times now).

Thanks for trying that - good to know it's not only me. So we're thinking that it's Re-live causing the issue? I guess that would make sense as the 16.12.1 drivers were the last ones without Re-live. I have been installing Re-live when trying the new drivers even though I haven't actually used it, although I think I remember opting out of installing it on one occasion and the Evil Within was still broke. Must try the new 17.3.1 drivers and opt out of Re-live to see if that works...

Yep re-live drivers themselves have been broken for me since launch without actually installing the re-live portion of the driver. Roll back to the last Crimson driver and everything just works as it should do. Good luck but i found 17.3.1 exactly the same as the earlier re-live drivers.

Thanks, I'll just stick with what I've got then. It is annoying though - this is the first time I've experienced any issues with drivers, albeit that I've only been PC gaming for a few years. I have reported the issue but I wonder how many reports of the same issue it takes for them to act upon it? There's bound to be more folk experiencing it though that would have reported it do you think? Have you bothered to report it yourself? It does make you wonder how many other games has it affected that we haven't came across yet...

Reported since the first release of re-live (Dec 16) in relation to 7 Days to Die which is my main game, nothing has changed though but i do keep trying new releases.

I've had AMD cards, crossfire and eyefinity for more than 6 years now and one thing I guarantee Relive drivers are the worst ones ever.
I had over the years:
1x 6950
2x 6950 crossfire
1x 7970
2x 7950 crossfire
2x 7970 crossfire
3x 7950 crossfire
3x R9 290 crossfire (my actual cards)
I'm using the 16.11.5 drivers, last one before Relive and they work fine, RELIVE drivers just cause problems, dunno what AMD did but I cannot get them to work properly and I'm losing the "improvements" and "fixes" for new games

I just wana know why FreeSynce isnt working with Arma 3.. (I see no difference when i turn it on) now i'm wondering if it might be a problem with Bohemia Interactive as they are developing DayZ Standalone and i'm not sure FreeSync works with that tbh. Its all over the net about the last driver with working FreeSync in Arma 3 is 16.10.1.

I might have to try that driver but lose ReLive and other benefits from later drivers.

@AMDMatt can you confirm any of this and when will it work in Arma 3 again?

Cheers.

Don't install the relive part. I also have had nothing but problems since relive came but skipping the relive installation solved my issues.

Installed the latest driver, and not impressed really. The Radeon Settings is slow, and often not responsive.

I'm also getting little glitches in chrome, and some other applications that look like graphical artifacting. Although they're window specific. If I move another window over them, you can't see them anymore.

Also getting graphical glitching in some games, namely WoW. Water is pitch black, shadows glitch all over, and some textures go mental.

Screenshot where the water fails to render, and simply all goes black. Only solution I could find was to close and reopen the games hoping it'll work out.

Might just installed the older drivers again.

Yeah it's definitely looking like GPU fault Vram.
That my friend is overheating or damaged VRAM modules and have nothing to do with the drivers.

It's a Fury X, and temps are reported as 32 degrees max at the moment. :/ I really hope this bugger isn't on his way out.

Like I said it's only confined to some windows, and if I move the mouse cursor, or another window over them you cannot see them anymore. For instance in chrome if I scroll down, they move up the page, as if they're embedded into it.
