The AMD Driver Thread

I voted for enable enhanced sync on more products. I do not see it on my 290 :p

I voted for both of your choices. :p

Think I've requested it already.
AMD have allowed their VSR to be second fiddle in flexibility since it's introduction and haven't decided to change that.

Request it again then, it's currently 4th on that list.

We attempt to introduce the most requested new features, you know what to do.

Why didn't I know about this before? Need a better way to get customer to see it.
Chill and benchmarking tools got my vote for interested in seeing but Profiles gets the vote for critical to function.
The OSD is the my most anticipated feature though. Native function of afterburner in the official package would be huge.

The OSD will be great. Zero need for afterburner then.

Honestly I feel like if AMD can bring a very good price for performance GPU out in the next few years, they will be in very good position with getting all these driver features in lately. The only thing I liked about Nvidia drivers was Fast Sync, now AMD have that also. I think AMD drivers in terms of features, speed and UI is much better than Nvidia. They just need to work on getting better performance out of their GPU's now.

Yep, AMD are making a very nice ecosystem for their GPU's with the Radeon Settings control panel, it's not something I would give up easily.

And rather than blind testing they could push frame targeting, Freesync and Chill for benchmarks.
You will end up with the same max fps figure but min/average is more important in the sync age and chill does wonders for power consumption, temperatures and input lag from my testing.

I hope this osd won't break steam overlay like afterburner does!
Good point.

For a long while when using afterburner in the past when I had a 295x2 I would wonder why steam osd would not work, then I discovered what it was and I was like d'oh! So obvious when you think about it.

@AMDMatt Any info on drivers for DayZ? Has anything been done in the driver for it yet? My game stutters randomly and its ******* annoying and makes it unplayable for me, Enhanced Sync has helped a little, seems to work now and has zero tearing with Vsync OFF & Afterburner Frame Limiter but i still get stuttering :( One minute its silky smooth, next minute a stuttery mess. Also had to turn off Shader Cache to help fight the stutter.

Any info on DayZ at all mate?

Gamescom Beta Demo is tomorrow, surely AMD are working with Bohemia at this point?

Hey Matt, don't get me wrong, love hearing from you, but what happened to the official AMD Rep for these forums? You know, the guy that said Hello and then didn't post again.

When overclocking Fury X (just installed the UEFI BIOS, what rock was I living under?) is it better to use Wattman or something like Afterburner?
Also, what are reasonable clocks to aim for on a Fury X?

@AMDJoe? He's a PR rep now. Not sure if a replacement will join these forums, perhaps not as I'm still active here.

Not aware of anything mate, we have no similar reports. Probably a game issue more than anything with that title.

Ok cheers, lets hope its just down to optimizations needed, which has none yet but cant come soon enough, was hoping it was an AMD driver issue that could have been addressed sooner.

Since i last posted here i've read that its just DayZ not playing happily with Windows 10 for a lot of people, tempted to install Win 7 just to test but not really got the time.. :)

Playing around with an RX-580 in WoW and have to say, I'm loving that Chill feature, It's ingenious, Playing WoW at around 45-60FPS is fine, The game doesn't really give much benefit when going over that so the power saving feature is epic.
