The AMD Driver Thread

MSI Afterburner is awful. I can feel it screwing with the input delays trying to crouchslide with Slash in Quake Champions. Close the program and key input is flawless.

Come on guys we are almost in 2018..stop ''bitching'' about space...

Thats another reason im happy with AMD is gonna have OSD.

Funny though, the developer over on Guru3D wouldn’t like my comment. I’ve seen numerous discussions implying there are no input delays. It is very obvious since everything in Quake requires precise timing and it interrupts the movements.

EVGA Precision is another awful one that does it as well yet is even worse. Hide the stats and it’ll crash the games.

So do we know that the AMD solution won't add input delay? (I doubt AMD will say it does, even if it does, I doubt MSI would say Afterburner does)
How do we know?

If you don't have to have it as an overlay or can it be run separately on a 2nd monitor?
If it has the same graphs as Afterburner and the like and if it monitors the same stuff then it might be ok.

Although if I have to have Afterburner running to set my fan curve why not have it do the monitoring too?

If it's optional like ReLive then I've no problem, if it's part of the drivers like Wattman then it'll make me sad.

Well we dont know..but if it does...we have Matt here to support us, lol.
But if it have any problems..im sure they will fix them.
Also im pretty sure it will be optional like ReLive.

Yeah, I just noticed there are no drivers at all for the newest cards. Considering 8.1 is supported until 2023 by microsoft, this really is taking the ****.

**** windows 10 and **** AMD. :D

Yeah its a shame :(

Just got my LC Vega 64 installed, and noticed, that i too don't have the HBCC, like some others on Win 7.

Hi,

Just jumped in and got myself a Gigabyte Vega64. Read somewhere i need to download drivers via Gigabyte website rather than use AMDs direct? That correct or bogus?

thanks

Use the Windows 7 driver (not the W10 driver as that will fail to recognise the card) it works on Windows 8/8.1 it's just not officially supported as such.

To be fair to AMD, they don't have the resources Nvidia do and testing the drivers across four O/S takes a lot of time/work even if they are all NT6 revisions. It makes sense to drop support for 8/8.1 given their comparatively miniscule user base at this point.

never thought you'd jump on AMD mate after all your posts these last 6 months. Fair play though, nothing wrong with the purchase, they are fantastic cards, hope you enjoy it as much as I am.

Yeah its a stunning looking card, couldn't go wrong at £599, no issues so far, running great, and no pump whine! :D

That would be expected, HBCC is supported on Windows 10 only.

Ahh well, im not too bothered about it tbh, seems to run great without, thanks Matt. :)

Vega users should probably be updating to the latest Beta a couple of times a month (assuming no show stopper bugs in the new driver build for you) as new bug fixes and optimisations become available.

Whats that Bethesda Launcher for in the drivers ?, as didn't install that, did a custom as to not install the ReLive, and it wasn't ticked, but ReLive came up asking to install later :p

EDIT: Just found out, not be installing that then :D
