The AMD Driver Thread

Anybody else having trouble getting GTA IV to work with a vega gpu? On mine it seems to load up then sits with a black screen. The secondary screen connects and disconnects several times, eventually it seems to crash the gpu drivers and cause a reboot. This is using the 17.11.2 drivers but it was the same on 17.11.1 too

I've not found any other game that suffers from this.

Known Game Bug not related to AMD. You need to run safe mode when you start the game up after its forced closed. This will reset the video settings and allow you to change resolution again.

The menus work perfectly. I only get this black screen issue once I load a save and it gets past the scrolling white text loading screen. If I try to change resolution I also get prolonged periods of black too.

This is the first time I have seen this problem. I had no issues with my gtx 780 nor the radeon hd 6970 I had before that.

Having had a look in event viewer, it seems to be a problem causing the display driver to crash. I have about 10 of these events over a 30 second period when I tried to play yesterday.

"Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I've submitted a report to amd. Will see if anything comes of it. No other games suffer this problem so it's not exactly a deal breaker.

Ah OK what I was saying is something else.

ah, nicve. Does it remember all the graphs between restarts, don't wanna have to do that every time.
Also how do you get all the CPU usage graphs onto one graph rather than having 8 (one for each thread)?

Yeah it will remember after each restart and even put them back onto your second screen where you left them. CPU You want to show graph for Total CPU usage, not cores/threads.

Can I just share this post for credit to AMD on just how good Relive looks!! 35mbs H.265 they is a little performance hit around maybe 5% Space battles, dark scenes, lights, speed all captured perfectly.

35mbs at 1440p 60fps 8 min recording and file size was only 1.8GB
