Looks like this update has fixed my hardware acceleration black screen/reboot issue on my Radeon VII, 6 hours in so far with no black screen

This is the first time I've been able to enable it without crashes, since the 2020 drivers were first released. Will need a few days testing to be 100% sure, but promising signs so far!

I really hope AMD will further test new driver releases going forward, as breaking existing working features should never be a thing.

Always seems to be with Twitch running on one screen while doing something else on my main screen.

I think I do have h/w accel enabled at the moment.
I did have it disabled a while back when that first came up as a possible fix and that did seem to work for a while but then it started happening again, even with that disabled, so I think I ended up turning it back on.
Will need to retest it again with it on/off see what happens.

Radeon Software may experience an application crash when playing games with non-alphanumeric characters in the game title.

Love that this was an issue!! lol!

Glad they sorted out the Instant Replay causing crashes problem. Plagued me for ages trying to diagnose that one.....

Wish they'd sort out this issue, It's been a "known issue" for months -

Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.

Why do I need to update my OS just install a browser when all other browsers functions just fine with my current setup? like WTF microsoft? Trying to force me to install all those telemetry updates or something?

Edge bundled with the OS sure, but the Edge Chromium seems great. Try it.

Got a weird problem with ReLive here (at least on versions 20.4.1 and 20.4.2 - hadn't used the feature in a while).

ReLive Recording and Instant Replay refuse to work (starts then immediately stops) when I enable 5.1 speakers or 7.1 headphones on my Creative AE-5 Sound Card. ReLive Streaming mode works regardless, as does Windows Game Bar recording. ReLive Recording and Instant Replay work fine in any 2/2.1 channel audio mode. Can anyone replicate this issue?

I might check if the onboard sound does the same when set to 5.1 as I'm not sure this is specific to the number of audio channels or the Sound Card itself. I have reported the issue using the "Report Issues Online" form.

Just came here to say that ReLive doesn't work for me anymore, last driver that it worked for me on was the 20.2.2. Ive also got a Vega 56 and an AE-5 sound card that I use in 7.1 headphone mode. Will check later to see if it works for me in 2/2.1 channel mode

EDIT - Just tested. Put my AE-5 in Direct HP mode, so 2 channel and ReLive works as it should. Put back into 7.1 HP mode and doesn't work again. Same with speakers, put them in stereo and ReLive works but changed speakers to 5.1 and it stops working

I think I'm done with this 5700XT. It's too unstable. I've ran OCCT for an hour and get no issues, but crashes randomly in Chrome (embedded videos) and now in World of Warships (not really tested anything else). The system (spec in sig) worked with a R9 290 Vapor-X for a month without a single crash, and that card takes apparently 40watts more than the 5700XT.

I've tried the following

Fresh Windows 10 v1909 install
Windows updates installed
Chromium Edge installed - set google defaultsearch engine
Reboot
Check for updates
Installed 20-04 cumulative update for 1909
Uninstalled Skype, Candy crush, Farm Heroes
Reboot
Check for updates - none found
Install Chipset 2.04.04.111
Reboot
Disconnect from network
Install GFX 20.4.2
Reboot
Install Chrome, Steam, Discord, WoWs

After a couple of hours it crashed while playing WoWs. Black screen then reboot. No crash dump. It then went 22 hours before crashing in Wows again. Are there any fixes or workarounds that don't require a reduction in performance, as the whole point of buying it was get more FPS! Full disclosure the card isn't from ocuk, but I'm good to have it RMA'd. Safe mode, driver removed, back to 20.02 and boots fine. Good job amd.

This feels like NVIDIA as well. Releasing shoddy drivers during all this.

Ive had a few blackscreens on 20.4.2 where I had none on 20.4.1 so they've changed something as of late.

I got my first ever black screen on 20.4.1 and I've had amd cards for a long long time. So went back to 20.2. Something

Interesting, 20.4.1 was the most stable driver for me to date, Just randomly getting black screens on 4.2 for no reason. Haven't changed anything.

Well you can get further than me, mine boots to a black screen.
