Complete black screen during post, which is weird but then i can hear it boot into windowsm but from then on its a constant black screen.

I had heaps of issues with my navi till I did a complete wipe of windows, now its been pretty solid for me.
This is also on a new install (2 months old) and has only had the 5700XT in this build. Rock solid on 20.02 so will stay there for a while.

Bummer, sry i couldnt help. Gluck with it tho.

Only other thing i can think of is maybe unseat it as in remove if poss turn it on let it know theres no gpu then turn off then put back in then try again.

Also did that last night ;-)

Will try 20.4.2 again today, might have just been a corrupted install

Getting pretty fed up with my Sapphire Nitro 5700 XT. Purchased it in November and initially had few issues, then the new UI came and there have been nothing but problems since.

Quite a few bugs in early versions and then the random black screens began. Tried a lot of work arounds, including chipset updates, bios updates, changes to various bios settings, a totally fresh install of windows on a new drive, swapping out my PSU, power cables and every driver AMD has released since the start of 2020. Nothing has worked and I still find myself having frequent black screens with the audio looping in the background, followed eventually by my PC resetting.

I have now rolled back to the 19.12.1 driver which is the last one before they update the UI. No idea if it will be more stable but despite being a long time AMD fan the green team are looking more tempting for future purchases. I worked hard to afford my card and the experience so far has been extremely disappointing.

This is the issue I really didn't want to run into: Holding onto the card in the hope that better drivers would arrive, but ending up months down the line with an unreliable card that I can't easily return, and can't easily sell on due to its issues. Be aware if you bought in Nov you're getting close to the 6 months after which the burden of proof that the card has always been faulty passes onto you rather than being on the vendor/manufacturer.

I'm so grateful this thread exists, as I've been teetering on the edge of buying the ASRock Taichi X OC or the Saphire Nitro+ all week and was worried about the driver issues. I'm a bit gutted as I didn't want to spend the extortionate amount extra for the small (6%?) gains the 2070 super gives, however it seems it's the more sensible choice at the moment. I wish AMD would get their **** together, their CPU's are amazing, but their GPU's just seem unreliable for far too many people.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't realise that. Guess I have some decisions to make in the next week or two then!

Managed to get the latest drivers installed tonight, with no black screen.

Then got a black screen during a game of Valorant. Back to 20.02.1 for me as i had never received a black screen before on previous drivers.
