The AMD Driver Thread

Maybe perf will improve with drivers since amd accelerators are still new they just need time to optimise to get the most out of em plus amds dlss might help too later. If not ah wekk, it still looks nice without the effects doesnt it?

would assume as more games are developed on the consoles this will help as well

:o

Fact.

I don't know why AMD is so silly to fall in this proprietary trap by Nvidia.

AMD should focus instead on classic 3840x2160 and above gaming.

Cheaper and very beautiful.

Gamers should not stay forever playing at 1920x1080. It's just silly.

I’m quite happy with 3440x1440 thank you :p

Yeah that's a point, have AMD actually *wasted* hardware just in order to jump on said RT bandwagon? Does it have any other functionality at all? Feels like it atm, esp with dragging their heels with releasing DLSS-type tech on PC. Extremely disappointed tbh, they knew CP was going to drop this.

Any news on AMD drivers getting HAGS (Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling)

There was a beta driver released last year which supported it but nothing heard about it since. There is a new one floating about which I believe it will formally rolled out with Windows 10 21H1 or H2.

Trying to run 3dmark and I got the driver time out issue, Ive tried multiple times. Just installed my 6700xt, all windows updated - new clean windows install. Installed the latest beta drivers amd, newest mb drivers.
any ideas? ... like to make sure my card/computer runs ok -

I'm also getting driver timeout with a 6700 XT (Nitro+).

Happens trying to run 3d mark, had it occur loading assassin's creed rogue or when quitting it. Also had it happen with just turning my 4K TV on and off, or another of my screens and windows changes the desktop as a result.

It doesn't always happen but does seem to be more frequent it u have the Radeon software open at the same time.

If anyone has a fix or suggestions in all ears.

Might be something with the memory?
I took off xmp and timespy runs, with xmp it does not finish did this 2x, also resat the memory.

I'm not totally sure about memory stuff just posted a thread here about it.

Ya just ran it again...
No resize bar, nothing is oced, no xmp timespy finishes, xmp it crashes with a driver time out.

Currently on 20.11.2 with a rx 480 8gb, the one that came after them give me a bsod video tdr failure when my pc came out of sleep, and the current ones have a know issue in the driver notes - Radeon RX 400 and 500 series graphics products may experience a TDR during extended periods of video playback. so i will give them a miss

The new drivers (I don't know which version was the first one) started to automatically check for updates and in this process, they are not quite stable when a new version appears.
It's like they want to automatically update?!

Last Checked always appears the current date, while the check for updates is set to Manual?!

not everyone wants to play at 3840x2160 or even wants a larger screen than 24 inch

Not everyone wants to drive a Tesla Model S, they want to drive Lada Vesta :D

1920x1080 is only a quarter of 3840x2160 and is a primitive, anti-progress setting which holds you back.

It's true, though, that not everyone is aware of the future technologies, and some even like to stay/live in the past.
