The AMD Driver Thread

Your waiting for AMD's new cards to jump ship to Nvidia?
Why wait?

Because people will upgrade and sell off their older cards in the MM.

It will obviously drop the price, assuming AMD's new cards have good performance.

This is what I'm hoping.

There's no need for a WHQL one and for those jumping ship with single cards that's just silly. For certain games where crossfire doesn't work I could see why but AMD's drivers are mostly fine.

Why is it silly? The past 3 big games I've purchased have had glitches / poor performance.

Hard line and GTA V tearing (Matt confirmed he got this too along with other forum members).

Project CARS poor performance with ati cards.

We as consumers pay good money for the technology and the games and expect to be able to play them as they are meant to be played. I'm not impatient, I understand fixes take time but I think sometimes these fixes take too long. I could stay with ATI but why give myself more headaches when the next AAA title is launched and doesn't work properly?

I'm fed up with AMD, as soon as the new cards from Nvidia are out, I'm jumping the ship (again).

You're not the only one. Sincerely hope they deliver a Witcher 3 crossfire driver on-time. I have no intention of going Nvidia though, it's not much better there either. :p

Where should I start?

How about the fact they haven't released a stable driver in the past 6 or so months?

Stable driver? Nothing wrong with 15.4, WHQL don't mean anything to how well a driver runs.. Just means it's been tested for compatibility..

What problems you been having with driver? You not helping very much without giving details to the issue you having.

I've watch your posts and seams to me that if AMD sold you a **** filled sandwich you'd say it was great.

AMD has no where near the support of NV and never will.

WHQL might not mean anything, but the clear "Beta" badge next to 15.4 is a clear indication this is not considered a stable, final release driver. Therefore not making my point any less valid.

On top of that, the virtual lack of support for the already released Project Cars and the announcement that the Witcher 3 optimised driver won't be ready until next week are just additional nails in the coffin.

I have also had issues with the mouse cursor bug, not being able to wake the display up, overclocking, Flash crashes, little to no support for the 7900 series cards, all that since about 14.4 WHQL, and the constant re-badging of existing cards into "new" models sold at full price, as if AMD does not need to compete with anyone any more.

what just like NV supported all those users affected by the Vram issue on the 970 lol. They just let suppliers handle it. All you go for NV is they were working on it. Then it was the 970 were designed like that. Basically meant tough S***
NV ain't no singing angel. They just release drivers abit more often.
