**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

Have they still not released a proper 'RC' (if you will) driver? I would have thought they might have been out of Beta by now.

usually they would have by now (last WHQL was april). But since earlier this year AMD stopped using 2 driver teams (one for beta one for WHQL) and merged them into a single team, as a result the entire driver focus has been on the frame pace betas.

I suspect now that the FP drivers are out AMD will return focus to getting FP+13.6+OGL wrapped up into a WHQL set.

13.4 vs 13.6 gives around an extra 7% perf in certain titles, so I'd imagine 13.8 is along the same lines as 13.6 performance wise. Either way it should give you a nice little bump, 13.6 was/is a very good driver, I didn't hear of any major issues at all.

13.6 is 13.5 with some display corruption and audio issues fixed, for most 13.5 will be fine, though you may want to take the OGL betas for a whirl and see what you think of them too :)

Evening gents (OP updated btw :))

Anyone know if its possible to use Nvidias 3dvision monitor/emmiter/glasses to get tridef working with AMD cards? I'm finding it quite a pain to google as it keeps throwing out the opposite of what I'm asking :D

Really loved 3d gaming in my brief stint back with a 670 and it seems barely any monitors natively support tridef (some now obsolete samsung monitors!).

I suppose it depends if it has on board graphics available? I've only heard of it happening on z series intel boards though, frostbite games are quite bad for it (bf3/4/moh etc..).

^the screws he needs will either be 6-32, m3 or m4, though iirc most of those aio rads are a 6-32 thread and he'll need them ~30mm long. Him being in the backwards word of north America he should have no problem picking up some imperial threaded bolts :D

I don't know how fifa15 is with crossfire cards but previous versions of the game would act up with it enabled. Try create new ccc profile, add fifa15.exe and in crossfire options select disable and save. This should force disable crossfire when the game is running and re enable cf once it's closed :)

I'll ask this in here rather then create another thread as it touches on many bases...

I'm far too happy with my current system and setup, so I'm going to keep it and do another build but a much smaller one...decided this build will feature a single 290/290x (what ever I get my hands on the cheapest!). The build will be mainly for big screen gaming (fifa on the tv etc..) as well as something transportable for Bf4!

So my question is regards to cpu/mb/socket and which one would likely to be the least problematic and most beneficial for mantle. I've narrowed my self to 3 options:

1. Z97 itx with a Pentium K

2. Fm2 itx with an 760k

3. Am3+ (itx seems slim pickings!) And a second hand 8320 or similar.

I'm leaning towards the Pentium k as it should be stronger in lower threaded games and benefit from mantle in the games I play that require higher thread counts.

Thoughts?

Surprised your all going nuts over the dsr thing when it appears you now have full mantle capture support :)

Amd are starting to build a nice package. Giggedy.
