Should have a whole 2 days to try them before my cards are sold and 780s arrive. It pains me to think I have waited all this time and jumped ship the exact time they come out ROFL

You're not the only one in that boat matey :o

Figured I'd better get good resale out of them while the goings good, I only lost around £90 all in all over both my cards :)

I paid £210 each for the cards, another £75 each on waterblocks and got £500 for the pair, so pretty happy with that.

I drink (not so much these days), smoke and have a 7 week old to feed, but dammit I WILL BE GETTING A 780 LIGHTNING!!

Priorities :o

Yer same, Guru3D guy dont know what he talking about lol or does he? :D

Its not impossible to think it may hit a delay of a few days, especially if this is going to be 13.8 WHQL, remember we haven't had a WHQL driver since 13.4 so we are long over due one.

Getting the WHQL stamp of approval can sometimes be tricky and will occasionally cause a driver to be delayed by a few days.

I say WHQL as AMD have absolutely no reason not to put 13.6 up for WHQL, which they chose not to, so my theory points to tomorrows driver being 13.8 WHQL.

:)

Tbh I'm quite pleased with how the majority of the red crowd have dealt with nvidias recent driver issues, hasn't been much baiting that I've seen.

When I first heard about the kill driver (320.18?) My first thought was "forum is going to go nuts with ban hammers at the ready" but fortunately it didn't turn out that way :)

I'd like both teams to have rock solid drivers consistently, that way focus could be placed on performance and scaling improvements over stability.

They sound ready then :)

From what I'm hearing we will get two drivers, frame pace will come wrapped up with a beta tag, while a whql driver will also be released, probably 13.6 + ogl with certification.

If it's up at a reasonable time I'll put a mirror up.

@Cromulent, see second post, far cry 3 is broken for all users regardless of amd or nv. You can improve it with the instructions in post 2 but it's never going to be great until the developer stops rolling around in his console dosh and makes a game update fix.

Chill out everyone :)

What would you rather have, the driver now with a potential bug (which I presume is behind the delay). Or have the fully fixed thing in a few days?

Imagine the flak they would get if it was released and they found card killing issues like Nvidia had with 320.18?

Straight up, the driver will be here on August 1. We really are sorry about the one-day delay; we know we promised 7/31, but we needed a smidge extra time to put it through the wringer and had to make that call at the 11th hour. Tomorrow 13.8 Beta is live for the world.

Thank you for the update thracks :)

Now can everyone just relax and stop acting like someone at amd just punched their mother?

It's A DAY delay, I could understand the moaning if it was another month but it's not.

pgi947 thing is its second delay.... they ware supposed to be out by end of June if i remember.

Correct, first date was a rough 'sometime June' followed by the set date of 31st July.

It's one day though, I feel thracks has explained it well enough, found something minor wrong prior to release that wasn't noticed earlier, probably highlighted by a reviewer, which I'm sure we'll find out about in due course.

I understand some seeing this as amd being crud 'oh amd all talk etc...' but it's ONE DAY. nobody here in a deadline focused job can honestly tell me they haven't spotted an issue at the very last minute, only to hold the job back a few days to make sure everything is perfect for the customer, I know from personal experience a customer would rather have it right the first time and slightly delayed, then have it on time and faulty.

Can we all relax now?

Yea AMD need to fix OpenGL that locks to 30fps with vsync on.. this has been a major problem for me when i visit Second Life and i always have to use MSI AB framerate limit set to 60. Also since the 13.6 driver, SL has been crashing a lot too.. and its not just me that has this problem. Im on 13.5 B2.

I heard from somebody that AMD are trying to fix the crashing but i'll have to mod the last decent OGL files into these new drivers if i must.

Have you tried the latest driver, the ogl specific one? Haven't a clue if it helps but it's aimed directly at ogl. See the first post for links :)

Remember these drivers are BETA, in other words not finished/complete/fully functional/perfect.

IF you find a problem, don't just change drivers and ignore it, fill out a report form with AMD, if you don't tell them about the problem they can't fix it!!!

Have you checked max clocks in gpuz monitor to see if they are being applied?

Edit: may be related to ulps again, iirc it played havoc with my overclocks.
