**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

If you are getting dx latency spikes try unplugging your second monitor. That is the only workaround for it right now. God knows why it's happening, but any non-eyefinity monitors hooked up will cause crazy dpc spikes with xfire and vsync enabled.

I only have the one monitor... Everything is point at my sound card being the issue. Its running old drivers, am going to remove it in the min and see.

i've just had a red screen crash in bf4, Matt i seem to remember you knowing what all the different crashes meant - can you remember what sound loop and red screen meant? ie, cpu, ram or gpu??

Been red screening on BF4 on every driver since 14.4 so still using it.

Apparently unstable overclocks, but I do not understand why one driver would work and not another.

Usually unstable cpu overclock, increase vcore a few notches. If it happens with your cpu and memory at stock, then it could be something else. Extremely unlikely to be the gpu.

my 290x starts to **** me off.

Every day when i start my pc it Blackscreens i have to hold power button and start up again and then its working fine for hours restarts ect :/

That usually means the card needs a slight voltage bump at that clock speed you're running. I can produce the same behaviour on all my 290 cards by running stock and lowering voltage to varying levels then turning the pc on with a cold boot next morning. You need to find that level the raise voltage a notch or two, typically.

thanks for the red screen help fellas i knew it had been discussed here at some point. It's the first time i've had it, but have just managed to get my greens working well at 2133 9 10 10 1T, so maybe they or the VCCIO need a tiny bump. CPU is only at 4Ghz at the moment so it's unlikely to be that

RE Lord LED - i've had a few black screens myself, could it be because i've not clicked on reset clocks as i've left trixx and shut down?

I presumed just shutting the program and restart would have sent them back to default...

How's the X99 setup btw Matt did you get 6 or 8 cores?

Not always card related, sometimes it can be

PSU ( Unlikely but possible )
RAM ( Usually requires a different timing, 2T instead of 1T )

Extra voltage bump etc

AMDMatt when card is on stock I am back to problems I had when I got it aka card crashing on windows and browser due to memory clock jumping 300-1200 like crazy.

My 290x bf4 edition is one of ****tiest 290xs on this forums i think even with +200mv using trixx it got artefacts pass 1150mhz on core when temperatures hit 66c maximum :/

If it did not had waterblock on i would have replaced it year ago. But it works 'KINDA'...

Neil79 my x99 is tuned ROCK solid:
12 hours of prime pass
Intel burn test 2 hours with max settings pass
I had metro benchmark running on loop for 24 hours.
Video rendering for 16 hours
Hottest cpu core after all that was 78c :]

Unfortunately its not a clocker, clock it a little with little volts and leave it at that.
