**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

I agree, but at least tell us up front it will be delayed rather than waiting until the day it is due then saying, sorry you have to wait a little longer.

How could they when they only found the problem on the 11th hour ? Tesco Cyrstal Balls are not what they used to be.

I am sure AMD had every intention of releasing on the day, these things happen.

Jeez, you tell your missus that you will meet her at 11am, but the car has a flat and you can't make it until 11:30 does she rant and rave on a forum ? :D:D

I just hope that when it is released, it has full support for 7990 cards and crossfire issues sorted. Those waiting and only have a single card will be disapointed IMHO.

It'll be interesting if this does fix their issue enough to satisfy users. I went back to my Nvidia 570 because of how bad it was on my crossfire cards. I'd rather have a smooth 50-60fps than a jittery 70-140fps.

I only have a single card but I'm interested in seeing the results, many single card users will be waiting to see before going crossfire as well. Anyone who believes this is going to do anything for their single GPU setup needs to read up on what this driver is actually for.

I'm not ranting and raving Catatonia, apologies if it comes across that way. If they were still testing the day of release then I'm surprised.

No worries mate, most software companies test up to the last moment, every moment is precious and it this case proved wise for AMD dispite the delay.

Join me in a virtual beer when the driver eventually ships and pray it fixes what they say it will. :)

Why is everyone waiting for new AMD drivers? I thought they were perfect?

Or at least that's the impression I got from people when reading the recent Nvidia driver threads.

Do we know if we'll be seeing any new non-BETA drivers?
I generally only use the 'official' drivers from both AMD and Nvidia (not on the same PC at the same time, obviously).

The drivers at the moment are fine, Single GPU users wont notice a change. And Crossfire uses who do Notice Micro-stutter once this driver releases should fix it for them.

The drivers are good, I don't get any problems and tweak crossfire issues out with radeon pro, just like I needed to tweak SLI when I had it.

But there is a flaw with crossfire and stuttering that isn't as apparent in Nvidia due to hardware differences.

Single card experience is unaffected.

These are still a new set of Catalyst drivers, so there will be gains for single GPUs too I'm sure, as it's bound to contain general optimisations for recent games.

Yea AMD need to fix OpenGL that locks to 30fps with vsync on.. this has been a major problem for me when i visit Second Life and i always have to use MSI AB framerate limit set to 60. Also since the 13.6 driver, SL has been crashing a lot too.. and its not just me that has this problem. Im on 13.5 B2.

I heard from somebody that AMD are trying to fix the crashing but i'll have to mod the last decent OGL files into these new drivers if i must.

Have you tried the latest driver, the ogl specific one? Haven't a clue if it helps but it's aimed directly at ogl. See the first post for links :)
