*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

Same here and it's annoying how people, mainly the manufactures, tout performance improvements when using upscaling instead of like for like raw performance.

Having to review GPUs must be a nightmare these days.
Yeah, with frame gen being the worst example of this. It's irrational, but it makes me angry, fps doesn't mean anything, it's just meant as an easy way to show how well a game is running. If that number is being artificially inflated it stops being a useful metric :( it's like a breach of trust.
As i said, irrational, it doesn't really matter all that much, but it gets to me.

Regardless, from that video of somebody filming a monitor with a camera and then the usual YouTube compression, you can clearly see an improvement.

That’s just in performance mode so quality mode should be significantly better.

Looks promising.

AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 3DMark Leak: 3.0 GHz, 330W TBP, faster than RTX 4080 SUPER in TimeSpy and 4070 Ti in Speed Way

It really depends on where you test the game; as the OC3D article states the results were around what they achieved with a 7900 XT, which the 9070 XT is targeted to replace. Doesn't seem an unlikely result, nor a particularly exciting one.
Well they never tested in game. They ran the benchmark which is a set scene so can be compared with any site running the same settings. It was 40% faster than than a 7900xt and 25% over a 7900xtx. This is why it seems like something was up with the settings.

Or, err, for me... throwback to the time I (almost) found out the hard way that 310mm is the limit for my setup. Got away with it though :D

(This was a Sapphire NITRO+ Vega64 in a Fractal Design Meshify-C)
Re: Reaper model for SFF - i'm in the same boat with me Silvertsone FT05 case (which i love - have two of them).

Basically in both Ray tracing and raster it's just slightly behind the 7900xtx

Those are significant increases over my OC GRE. assuming it isn't OC thats around XTX performance in time spy extreme and 20% in speedway

everything I watched last night said none of the vendors had drivers for the 9070 it might not change anything but could

They do have drivers..

AMD said they don't have launch day drivers, but they do have testing drivers

Impressive if true. A lot depends on release date and price now. If they can get it below $500 and out before the 5070 it could be a hit.

I'm not sure what technical magic folk expect that will let Nvidia or AMD defy physics and give you 2x the performance without 2x the number of transistors and 2x the memory bandwidth, which would cost them 2x to make...

Architectural and process improvements are only going to give you 'incremental' improvements at this stage...

All that's left is 'cheating' with upscaling etc to make it _feel_ faster without giving you 2x the hardware...

With these new leaks I'm back in to mildly looking forward to it camp, however will hold out for further judgement, I'm waiting for the massive let down after all the hype to hit.

we might get this generations 6700xt so it could be good

but maybe :(

Not sure why you felt the need to single me out for that response as i didn't say anything about 2x the performance, in fact i didn't even quantify a degree of performance. I simply said it's annoying how people, mainly the manufactures, tout performance improvements when using upscaling instead of like for like raw performance.
