*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

But (genuine question) why not?

All people do is moan and complain about AMD doing late or too expensive launches (see this tyhread for many examples), as we've pretty much zero solid evidence of anything right now there's potential they know what they're doing and have listened to the past criticism.

They said they are going for market share , only way to do that is aggressive pricing

We'll have to see

AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 3DMark Leak: 3.0 GHz, 330W TBP, faster than RTX 4080 SUPER in TimeSpy and 4070 Ti in Speed Way

Reading the bickering between people on that article makes me want another pandemic.

Christ alive

Not sure why you felt the need to single me out for that response as i didn't say anything about 2x the performance, in fact i didn't even quantify a degree of performance. I simply said it's annoying how people, mainly the manufactures, tout performance improvements when using upscaling instead of like for like raw performance.
Sorry if you took it at a personal attack - it wasn't meant to be!

And I'd agree that a raw performance comparison would be more honest and better for consumers - probably because a lot of us wouldn't bother upgrading if the real delta is disappointing!

Raw performance is the most important factor if they get the power draw and heat right

but do miss my old r9 heating the kitchen

No chance if it performs like a 4080

Indeed. The notion that this generation's high-end performance is next generation's mid-range performance is preposterous! Such a thing should only be possible using the power of AI!!!!!!

RTX 2070 performs as well as a 1080 Ti
5700 XT performs as well as a Radeon VII
RTX 3070 performs as well as a 2080 Ti
7900 GRE performs as well as a 6950 XT
7800 XT performs as well as a 6900 XT

Oh... :p

At 479 dollars? it would be an incredible deal compared to the 5070, especially if the RT is much better. With the leaked performance over the last couple of days,I can't see it being any less than £600 for the 9070XT
You might know that, I might know that, but the general buying public have proven over the last generations by buying 3060s and 4060s over AMD's 70 class cards because "DLSS and RT is betterer" AMD have had to reduce pricing to move units.

I hope so. That's a few different things saying around that time. The shop listing, the zotac teaser and the chiphell leak. Fingers crossed they not just copying each other and it's real

I guess they'll have to show it with benchmarks using FSR4 perf mode and 5x frame gen with AFMF stacked on top and claim that it's faster than a 5090.

I was quite harsh on AMD initially but after having a proper look at the 5070 specs it seems like it’s not going to be much better than a 4070 super despite what uncle Jensen says so AMD have a good chance here if they don’t get greedy.
