*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

if AMD don't price this correctly then they deserve to be out of the GFX card business, we have potentially something as fast as a RTX 4080 raster and good Ray tracing @ 300w for < £600 would claw back the mid market share from Nvidia, what epic opportunity that comes along once in a decade. I was seriously expecting much better performance from Blackwell instead Nvidia went AI crazy with fake frames and gimped raster.

nearly every comment on social media is about AMD getting the price right, surely they won't score another own goal?

What do you mean 5 wildly different bars? It clearly shows you at the bottom of the first slide that the colors represent 5 different cards. The pink and the orange are the 9070XT and 9070. In CP2077 without RT, the 9070XT is faster than the 7900XT by around 7fps and only 4fps slower than the 7900XTX.

The second slide shows games with RT enabled in which case the 9070XT is faster than the 7900XTX in the heavy RT games.
I was only confused because it says XTX and XT

I had counted them out already and was looking at the 5070Ti / 5080 but now...

These cards need to come in at £299 and £349 otherwise they'll be a failure. (Feel free to quote and alter the prices to fit where you think they should be before you declare AMD incompetent)

I am replying to myself, as there was significant reaction, in case you missed it I was taking the pee. So many people pre-judging based on very little info and declaring AMD incompetent/stupid/inept/backwards unless they do some that that individual thinks is worthwhile. As I said earlier in the thread I'd hope these come in at £499, replacing the value that was the 7900 GRE, but with a generational performance leap.

Same for me I had a entry model 5080 pencilled in, now i'm waiting on the 9070xt.

I mean the FE coolers are a marvel and kudos for that engineering. I am also keen on how the general apps and AI improvement pans out as that has some leverage. However the poor uplift from a gen tick is shocking and the stingy vram continues.

Same here, was going to go for the 5080 FE but it's looking underwhelming. So now it's between 5070ti and 9070XT just depends on the price. If it's just 100 quid cheaper than the 5070ti I'll just get that for DLSS/RTX HDR and other Nvidia advantages.

Was interested in the Ti until I read its AIB only (no FE) and that was like ffs £800+ here we go.

I'm upgrading from a 1080ti so anything is good for me. But if the 9070xt performs as goods as the leaks suggests it will be an amazing 4k card, I also feel 16gb of RAM is a little off putting I think it will age quicker than my 1080ti did so id rather spend less and upgrade again sooner.

If the reviews are good next week I wont even wait for the 5080 reviews.

Every release of cards you see the same thing scattered around the internet. I hope AMD cards are good so that it will hopefully drive prices down for the Nvidia cards.
If amd GPUs are good why would you care what prices nvidia are selling at? Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like one of those "AMD has to compete so I can buy nvidia cheaper" statements.

I don't think it will drive any prices down, AMD will just price the card higher. I do hope AMD's new GPU is better than we think though, I just don't think I will be getting one as I don't need to upgrade anytime soon.

Sorry, that wasn't my comment, my grammar was just shockingly bad. That was the general comments I had just read from another forum but you generally see it around the internet.
Absolutely no chance of Nvidia shifting on prices though as they know people will still pay.

He is correct though, there's a not an insignificant number of people who want AMD to have lower prices to Nvidia lowers theirs.

Not sure what the issue is? if Nvidia have to cut prices then that means people are out buying AMDs cards instead.

An unboxing in Ukrane, but still no official launch - AMD is skipping viral marketing and gone straight to surreal...
