*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

AMD its simple £699 and you will wipe the floor with 5080 downwards, come on do the right thing :D I have to be honest if AMD did not exists then Nvidia with these prices would have killed PC gaming for many, just ridiculous prices for a 5070ti.
699 isn't a great price for the 7090xt...amd said it'd be within 5-10% of the 7900xt at their keynote speach in CES and you can buy those now for £720 on ocuk right now...they've been down at £650 before.....so where the generational uplift in that? that will be an own goal at that price. People will say they're just doing the same as nvidia. They renamed their cards to be in line with nvidia so it's a 4070 series card...4070super you could have bought a £520 black fri...4070ti was £699...and amd doesn't command the same price/perf of nvidia...not by a long shot
they need to provide better vaslue that 40 series cards while giving pertter performance than 50 series cards to be deemed a generational uplift and decent card, rather than just jacking up the price in line with performance, as nvidia do

You could get an RX7900XT under £600 last year and it was frequently under £700. The RTX4070TI dipped under £600 too as @TNA can attest to.The RTX4070 Super also dipped under £500 during special deals last year.

good shout..., was thinking of the 4070ti super zotac super solid at £699 when i wrote that (same card ocuk jacked up to £859.99 just before 5000 release....makes the 5000 series seem better value then)...yup you're right. def saw the asus dual 4070S at £500 at one point

Many of us are trying to be fair on AMD and Nvidia by just comparing to launch RRPs. However,if we look at actual street prices over the last year, the RTX5000 series looks atrocious and worse than Turing. AMD pricing relative to that will just make it a bit less atrocious, but not a good deal if the base price isn't decent. Just like a £600 RX6700XT during the Pandemic would have been a better deal than a £700 RTX3060TI,but they are still overpriced.

It's why relative pricing is not a good metric to use as a measurement. It just takes one participant in a pricing cartel to have one model priced at stupid money. This historically is what has happened in the past with SSDs,etc and these companies ended up being fined. Won't happen with gaming products because we are not important enough.

Hardly an open goal as nvidia have a release the day before which could throw a spanner into the works. Prices could still be in the process of going up or down.
Still an open goal considering the known price and reasonably well predicted performance of the Nvidia cards. Given the sham that was the 5080 release, I don't see things getting any better for the cheaper cards. We've already seen absurd pre-scalped price leaks for next week's 5070ti.

This disastruous 5000 series launch is the widest open goal yet for AMD. So many people are put off by and dunking on Nvidia right now or literally are unable to buy a 5000 series. A chance like this may never come again for AMD.

Performance I'm certain is there at 7900XTX level. Pricing... this is where its make or break.
Now imagine new GPU with equivalent to 7900XTX performance for only 2/3 the launch MSRP. Or even better, half the 7900XTX launch MSRP... the marketing writes itself!

Just try not to fall flat on your face this time AMD...

Hmm, that's interesting, that box looks an awful lot like the "900w" minimum box. But says 850w so is there another bigger gigabyte card? Though I guess maybe they are all layed out the same for that part of the box?

That's the "Gaming" model, so there's likely a higher-end Auros.

Its the 'Gaming OC' version isnt it?

I usually dont like the Gigabyte cards but that one doesnt look too bad, triple 8 pins though? I only have a 650W PSU.

I will probably end up with a non XT if I manage to get a 9070.

Hoping the Pulse is decent tbh.

Dual and Triple fan variants of the Pulse?

I'll take the Dual please :) Just need dimensions for my little Corsair 400C case!

Edit, must be old news and I must be half asleep.. will be back when fully woken up :p

I think the 9070 is dual and the xt is triple

I'm aiming for the pulse assuming the price is right :)

Box for red devil 9070xt has leaked it says 900w PSU required

I think the AIB models are overclocked hence the high PSU requirement. 900w PSU required would suggest TDP around 400watts

I think the card manufacture must be assuming that at least some people are using 14900KS :P "let's see, our card can draw upto 400w and the cpu can draw 400w and the rest of the system draws power... 900w minimum requirement" :P

3x8 pin + pcie slot = 525w max. I think the 900w minimum is just the manufactures being extra cautious, which is certainly better than the alternative. [Looks disapprovingly at the 5090 connectors]
