ASUS is becoming the Fendi of the computing world.
Taichi oc is clocked the same. Plus xfx not sold in uk and the warranty is rubbish. It looks like XFX has significantly beefed up their Mag Air card (now "Mercury Mag") to be their top-end model and it will be the highest clocked (and thickest) of the bunch. This is the one I'm going for.
I've had good luck with XFX over the years (GPUs and PSUs), they actually crossshipped a dead 290 a while back to me. I'm buying from the US, going for the white version if they have it.Taichi oc is clocked the same. Plus xfx not sold in uk and the warranty is rubbish.
Was only talking about UK, id go for a xfx air white if I was in the US!I've had good luck with XFX over the years (GPUs and PSUs), they actually crossshipped a dead 290 a while back to me. I'm buying from the US, going for the white version if they have it.
What's the length on those cards, thought I saw something made like 360mmIt looks like XFX has significantly beefed up their Mag Air card (now "Mercury Mag") to be their top-end model and it will be the highest clocked (and thickest) of the bunch. This is the one I'm going for.
£561 at current exchange rates as the GBP is strong ATM. The RX9070 would work out at £514.Also wouldn't be surprised if the unofficial official price will be 599 gbp once everything has settled down. Rather than 587 or what ever the conversion works out to be. It's unfortunate but often true that with a stronger currency comes higher relative prices.
So a lot lot more than the 8% mentioned£561 at current exchange rates as the GBP is strong ATM. The RX9070 would work out at £514.
OFC. If the GBP tanked the prices would immediately go up and if the GBP is stronger the price will take ages to come down.So a lot lot more than the 8% mentioned![]()
They are huge cards for miss range cards, were the 7800XT and 7900GRE this big? What's the length on those cards, thought I saw something made like 360mm
It certainly does look like the stars have aligned for AMD. I just never dared to believe that they could exploit it well enough. We are gonna find out today and tomorrow when we have price and performance locked in. If it all works out it is going to be interesting to see if AMD can capitalize on the success and keep growing market share and interest for their GPUs.They are huge cards for miss range cards, were the 7800XT and 7900GRE this big?
I guess the 5070/5070Ti cards are pretty big too, so I guess it's just the way things are going. Disappointing though as it can limit case compatibility with older cases.
So, today's the day for reviews then?
Things must be looking good for AMD, I don't remember a time in the past when a tech tuber has so strongly hinted at the performance of a competitors unreleased product in a review video.
It all gets more complicated when you factor in that they were bought at least a month ago for some placeholder amount, and the final price wasn't confirmed till Monday with some distributor who represents the aibs, and the aibs made the cards without knowing the msrp, and probably without knowing the final price they would be paying amd for the chips. What was the exchange rate when they were bought by the retailer? The ballpark is like for like USD vs GBP post VAT and import charges.
I’m all for a fair price but I do accept retailers have to make a profit as well. It’s when you see pre-scalped 20% or higher prices that it becomes worrisome. All the morons (sorry I can’t be nice to them) buying up massively pre-scalped 5090s, 5080s and 5070Ti cards told retailers “we are happy to pay”.

What kind of fps are you getting with pubg on your 6800? Do you need more or want a prettier picture?I'm torn whether to grab a 9070 XT or go for a OLED monitor. Still rocking a Sapphire 6800 that I grabbed from OCUK 4 years ago in January and the only game I play is PUBG at 1440p. Going to see what the reviews will say tomorrow...
