*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

So a potential 8800XT is going to give nearly 50% faster gaming performance over a 7800XT to match a 4080 and 45% better performance in RT to match a 4080/4080 Super and people want and expect this to be $500?

I call horse**** on the raster perf til we see the reviews drop. 45% faster RT than crap RT is still that, crap.

They better at least nail the upscale this time, getting embarrassing.

So basically 40% faster than a 7900XTX in RT and roughly on par in raster. Unless they're going to unveil some big perf jump I'll stick with my 7900XTX until the 9000 series launches in a year or 2.

This would be a sidegrade for me as I don't really care much about RT and with no raster uplift it's a no from me.

I expect cheaper, the market above £300 is low

I mean they are aiming for mid tier for next gen so it's always gonna be like that if your already on 7900xt / xtx

I'm coming from 3080 and play at 1440p so this is looking very interesting

I think people need to remind themselves (as it is easy to get caught up in hype and speculation) about what we know. It will be a mid-range GPU. So yes, those on top end 7900XT or XTX cards are probably not going to be buyin this GPU, especially for general Raster performance. That should go without saying. Personally, I'm with a 6900XT so I'd be waiting to see benchmarks before deciding if it fits what I need. What else do we know, yes AMD have said they are focusing on RT performance. So as long as they deliver on that (any improvement is welcome), then they have fulfilled their promise. Next would be the price, it has to be priced as a mid-range GPU. Get that right and we should be golden.

TBH AMD NEED to sell it at that price like actually NEED to, they really should go for Market Share this time like they did with GEN 1 Ryzen. If they sell the 8800XT at $500 TBH ill probably get that over a 5080, they have a real chance this time gain some serious market share, at $500 it would **** over the 5070/5070TI which is likely to be around the 4080 performance level if we base it on usual trends, it will also make the 5060 redundant if priced correctly and Nvidia try to price the 5060 in a similar way.

For me i'm looking at the 8800xt as a good mid-range card vs going all out on a 5080, so i'm really looking forward to January right now.

If the 8800xt is as fast as the rtx4080 in raster and RT and uses 15% less power then that's not bad imo - it just needs a sharp price

The 4080 is $999, so I think the 8800xt should be under $700

For the people thinking it will be $300, what are you smoking? Why would AMD charge $300 when Nvidia is charging $999 right now
