*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

If its 7900 XT +1% in raster and +45% on top of that in RT it puts it here in Cyberpunk, honestly i don't think its going to do better than that, and its good enough IMO.

The original leak stated 45% RT improved over the XTX, which would be great. But yeah, it will depend on the game and 25% in something like CP would be a massive improvement.

You can tweak RT for CP2077 a lot and maintain great visuals. Hell I can get the RT+PT from Ultra+ and maintain stable fps @ 2560x1080 w/ XeSS Q on a 'mere' RX 6800. Problem is, comparatively it will still be quite weak (and the vram advantage of yesteryear, 8 GB vs 16 GB, is gone) so AMD needs to be very aggressive on pricing for it to matter, because that's their only lever left to pull.

Vs 7800 XT

Rumours are 64 CU's (+7%)
At 2.8Ghz base to 3.1Ghz boost, my 7800 XT run's at its advertised boost speed in all games, 2430Mhz, so lets assume a flat 3.Ghz (+23.5%)
Memory: 20Gb/s vs 19.5Gb/s, 625 GB/s vs 640 GB/s (+3%)

The slide below is RDNA 3 overclocked to 2.93Ghz and the +7% CU's added on, IMO this is good for a conservative estimate of the RX 9070 XT.

References.

Surely each CU will have an IPC improvement? Your example is just a higher-tier 7000 card

Agreed, AMD appear to be a generation behind on RT so unless there's a multi-generational uplift in this regard I wouldn't expect that to change. Perhaps UDNA will be the watershed.

Looks like initial supply going to be awful, might only be a handful of MBA cards out in the wilds on release.

So basically the typical gpu launch for the most part if that's anything to go by.

Yep every nvidia and AMD launch for the last 8 years has had paper to absolutely zero launch supply.

I've pre ordered my last 3 GPUs and each one I've not actually received on the launch day, but actually 4-8 weeks after launch day

I love the look of the Powercolor cards, bought a Red Devil 5700XT when they came out, looked great but ran terrible (drivers, artifacting etc) so got a refund.

Had a Vega 56 Red Dragon for a while, beast of a card.

If I go with a 9070 this time it'll be Powercolor unless Sapphire can actually make a Nitro without a stupid bright silver backplate, that always puts me off the Nitro.
