The 1080ti keeps being mentioned because we think Vega pricing will have it in the same ball park.
It is priced for miners, not gamers. So probably won't be 1080Ti performance :p

I hope I am wrong though. I have always expected 1080Ti performance at least. But more I have seen, the less confident of that I have become. Would be such a present surprise if at least the liquid edition is close to the 1080Ti on minimums. It would at least warrant it's price a little.

That was posted in the Vega preorder thread.
I wonder if that is the liquid cooled edition. At those clocks it should be around 1080Ti performance one would imagine. However I can see it being 400w or something. lol

Lets give it a chance first. At 2 Oclock, then we can say its rubbish :)
Usually I would agree with you. But every single sign shows that it is. Including these leaked reviews.

I was one of a few people here who was optimistic in AMD and Vega that they would at least match 1080Ti performance from about a year ago. Everyone was saying 1070 performance, max 1080, but I could not get my head around how they could improve so little from an Fury X. So you can imagine I am severely underwhelmed and disappointed with what they managed to come up with all that time and tech. Might be a great card for compute, but not for gaming in comparison to what Nvidia offer.

Only way I see myself getting one now is if it mines well to pay for itself :(

I always figured it would be about the performance of an overclocked 1080. Still hope for that. Slim, but who knows. I'm going to wait to see what Guru3d and Techpowerup say about it before I make my assessment.
If it mines great I'd also buy one. With my NEO wealth :D
;)

Not seen it in 2 days and here 24/7

2 days? It was posted ~2 hours ago. That is what everyone has been talking and being disappointed about since :(

Seems like Vega needs a lot of extra power to eek out that extra little bit of performance. Vega 56 is the sweet spot for Vega. But even that is over priced imo.

You obviously don't pay your electricity bill
Depends on how much one games. If 10 hours a week, it is not that bad.

Plus most people will not even OC, so say a Vega 56 (what most will buy) which is 210w, over a year the difference will not be noticeable. Not many people will be buying the liquid one anyway.

In the past I have been happy to wait for AMD products, as you always knew even if it was not the best, it would improve price for performance. AMD have not done this now for many years. We now cannot even say Nvidia are over charging us anymore when AMD price their products like this. Sad times :(

Look I am not going to excuse make for the fact I am disappointed with Vega, and that its late too,and that power consumption is deffo not impressive. Heck I have a GTX1080 in a SFF rig,so unlike others power consumption and TDP and deffo important for me,not to save money or for bragging rights, but since my case would melt! :p

However,I just think maybe we need to look at a few reviews first to confirm all of this - if an air cooled RX Vega 8GB is basically hitting nearly as much power as a water cooled Vega FE 16GB,with half the VRAM,then it really is sad days! :(

I really hope the Vega56 at least is OKish:

I will be surprised if even the most die hard AMD fan will be happy with Vega to be honest. It is a very disappointing card due to many reasons unfortunately.

The only one I think that could be classed as "okay", is Vega 56. Had they priced it 100 bucks cheaper, it would have been a good card however. Because at least the people who patiently waited for AMD would have been rewarded with a cheaper price for their loyalty. Instead after waiting 16 months, all they are getting is an option to get similar performance to 1070 for a similar price.

Well, had a look at the Radeon RX Liquid Edition reviews and it has not beat the 1080Ti in any games. Most of them it does not even come close.
