Can I ask what AMD did to you? Just curious why everything you say about AMD is negative and quite frankly, seems a bit angry.
What nonsense.
I don't say negative things about And, I state facts.

Nothing I have said about AMD's resaerch in MCM is negative, I'm just setting people's expectations in reality.

If I hated AMD I wouldn't be building a Threadripper system . It might even have a Vega gpu in it if the fp16 performance is really having an impact on deep learning tasks

The final drivers before launch, it's not uncommon for cards to gain serious improvements from post launch driver updates (I.E HD7900 series). OFC I am not saying that "will" happen, just that it has in the past.

These are the post launch FE driver improvements though - 4 weeks that's turned into 6 weeks worth :p

The UK prices don't include VAT so do seem very high.

Don't think so

He is not going to overclock the memory and underclock the core !!!!

He has overclocked the core. It's up to 1716 mhz. His memory is at 1050 so the result looks around correct for those clocks going off the Ultra results. Memory overclocks gave Fury a decent boost so no reason to think they won't with Vega.

From the pre-order thread.

We've also got some new fancy super fast card arriving as well, my guess is you all know what this is, but of course I cannot say, but there will be plenty to go round. :D

I shall limit standard card to 3pc per customer, all special editions, watercooled etc shall be 1pc per customer. End of the day I want as many people to get a chance to grab one, playing it as fair as we can!

A lot of the cards in the post I made earlier were running their review cards @1750mhz on the core so yes 3dmark is probably reporting the core wrong in your link.

Thing is tho, you don't just put HBCC, FP16 and this DSBR hardware in a product and not use it at some point. Current games probably just do not use it. But future titles might once the hardware becomes available.

Also gives AMD something to okay with driver side moving forward.

Hbcc and fp16 will be used for deep learning on Radeon instinct cards.

HBCC is useful for video production work. It will also be useful for HPC applications in Vega 20 which will offer 1:2 FP64 support.

FP16 can be used in limited situations in games, but requires developers to support it.

hBCC only becomes useful if you are trying to address. More data than fits in Vram. This is very limited value right now. One could develop a game.to do this but since it would only work in Vega then market share will mean it is not viable.

Who says DSBR is not working in the latest drivers? AMD have already set expectations that performance gains will be modest.

No as his results line up decently with the 1750 result which has no memory overclock. The core difference would make little difference but the memory overclock probably would. They also said 3dmark reports the top core speed. His top may have been lower but more constant. There is no reason to doubt the reported top core speeds as from what i have seen with all the Vega results is nothing but believable clocks. Any how as i said his score is only 2% higher than the max 6057 reported in the article so he's not pushed that card way higher. The clocks are most likely spot on.

Those scores are with the final drivers it states at the top of the article.

Having said that there may be improvements with future driver releases.
Did not read the article to be honest. When I see WCCFTech or VideoCardz I do not bother (more so the former). I just give the quote a quick glance usually :)
