I can see now why people say the 3080FE is loud. I played the bundled CoD Cold War and it ran really well with everything at max including Ray Tracing, temps below 80C and not too noisy so was impressed. I've just tried Control (free with XBox Game Pass) with everything maxed inc. RT and the FE sounds like an aircraft taking off. This game must push the card to the limit. It's still below 80C so I can only guess it is the memory that is getting very hot so the fans spin up to max (Fan 1 hit 3800rpm and Fan 2 3400rpm), shame we cannot monitor these temps. Also can't get DLSS to work, it keeps saying I need an RTX graphics card but let's me pick Ray Tracing high but that's for another forum.

I had the same. Control is not optimised very well.

It was so loud!

There is a noticable difference between playing a game with rt on or off, with it off less of the core is being used so the temps are lower. With it on the tensor cores are used so temps ramp up a good bit and the fans as well. Can be 30%+ more fan speed.
 
So got my 3080 recently and im getting 17.1k graphics time spy score on stock. This seems a bit low right? I understand from reviwers it should be about 17.8k but as I udnerstand since those reviwes were made Nvidia released a driver that reduced performance to tackle instability issues.

So what is the normal 3080 fe timespy score now?

seems fine to me my score is 16745 avg 1928mhz AVG 69C
thats with my undervolt. My stock score was lower.

Might try a bit of an overclock see what it does not actually pushed it just undervolted it and left it alone for now.

Ops I meant gpu timespy score of 17.1k. Yeah I checked timespy threat and most results there are 18-19.5k but they are surely overclocked and tuned.

Wanted to see if anybody else had ~17k timespy graphics score and whether they managed to fix it.

My slightly overclock 2080Ti hits almost 16k GPU score (15,927) I would hope the 3080 hits higher than 17k at stock. Will see soon as I have a 3080 fe on the way
