The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Anyone been watching the final season of AOT?
Kinda funny the marley army are like "why aren't these people scared of titans?"
Well you marley did send out Titans and the warrior units to attack them...they would have eventually decide to fight back.
All upset as well all their people are getting killed..well you did send out Titans again and units to retrieve the founding Titan.
Only have yourselves to blame for creating "demons/monsters"

I am actually enjoying it so far.

I watched all of Demon Slayer at the weekend and i flipping loved it.. Cant wait for it to continue. :D

the film follow on from the where the tv left off from what i been told. there is plan for a season 2 which suppose to follow on from where the film left off.

Seems like a good place to update my watching list :)

Finished:
  • Cautious Hero - The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious - This was pretty good I thought, not really as serious as something like Saga of Tanya the Evil, but I'd say it's worth a watch.
  • DARLING in the FRANXX - There is a lot to like about this imo but it's not perfect. You've got Code 002 (Zero Two) who makes it worth watching by herself, fantastic artwork, characters who feel (and act) realistically, an interesting world with a fair bit of mystery surrounding it, mechas with a bit of a twist etc. I knew going in that this had some problems towards the end, and largely I can say that it ended better than I thought it would. It's not as good as something like KLK or GL but I enjoyed this on the whole.
  • The Future Diary - This conflicted me a lot, on the one hand it was edgy trash, on the other hand it has a yandere and could be entertaining at times. I think on balance I have to be honest with myself, I would probably not rewatch this, nor would I recommend it to anyone to try over insert a list of better anime here. I really struggled to get on with this fully, and mainly finished it because it's mentioned a lot, and I didn't want to see it mentioned so much without actually just trying it and seeing it myself.
  • Isekai Quartet - I really like all of the isekais this is based on, but this show just didn't work for me. I dropped it after a few episodes as I'd rather spend the time watching something better in the same time. If watching comedy I think I just need some kind of moving plot and canon developments.
Continuing:
  • My Hero Academia - About halfway into Season 3 now.
  • Assassination Classroom - I've just finished Season 1 ready to start Season 2. I am enjoying this show, doing a couple of episodes a day.
Planning to watch (short list - roughly in order probably. Bold = starting imminently):
  • ID- INVADED (£20 on Amazon for the season bluray so going to try it and see if I want to buy it. Was on my list anyway).
  • New Game! (I miss the laid back but interesting story of Kobayashi, so I think this will be a nice gap between something more serious).
  • FLCL (I am just going to watch first 6 episodes as per Season 1. Fairly short so seems like an easy win in terms of crossing something off my list).
  • My Next Life as a Villainess- All Routes Lead to Doom! (I need a new Isekai, and this is also pretty short).
  • Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunnygirl Senpai
  • A Place Further Than the Universe
  • School-Live!
  • From the New World
  • Great Pretender
  • Re-CREATORS
  • Akame ga Kill!
  • Jormungand
  • Psycho Pass
  • Jujutsu Kaisen

That looks like it could be fun:)

I finished off the first season of "March Comes in like a lion" which was enjoyable but quite slow/low key, I'm going to put season 2 onto a back burner for now as I've got so much other stuff to watch, and it's only available here on Crunchyroll I think.

I've made a start on "Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory", going with the audio dramas etc first, I'd recommend probably starting with the Christmas audio drama but skipping the other "what if" ones, as I think the what ifs are set after the series, whilst the Christmas one is the bridging one, but there looks to be about 4 hours of audio only extras on disc 4 of the set (~90 minutes of what iffs, and about 2-3 hours of audio drama), it's fun hearing an FMP story that I've not seen/heard half a dozen times already :)

I've succeeded in avoiding buying more anime in January! but then bought "the Ancient Magus' Bride" and "Goblin Slayer" in Zavvi's 40% off sale yesterday :/

In other news, apparently both "Violet Evergarden" and "Planetes" have been delayed a bit, which is actually a bit of a relief, it gives me a chance to knock my backlog down a little (looks at previous sentence, oops
nuts.gif
), and Konosuba season 2 will be going up in a couple of weeks so that's an order for me...

I like Konosuba but I hope EB price isn't £60, it's not a long season. £30-£40 is more reasonable. Shame they haven't mentioned doing a re-print of S1 CE along with it, I'd buy both if the cost was sensible.

See that Attack on Titan season 3 collection has been announced as well? Not a CE one but I think they are just replacing part 1 and part 2 releases for it.

Goblin Slayer has had a Season 2 announcement also, although not a release date yet.

ATA don't do reprints of CE's normally, and the first season sold out in a couple of hours, i'd expect the ce for season 2 to be about £30 in the pre-order sale.

Good and bad I guess, good in that you can get something unique, bad that it's impossible to go back and get season 1 CE without paying extra through something like ebay.

If I get CE for season 2 then I'd have to put it next to non-CE for season 1 probably. I guess in the end if it's all been released, then there may be a collection CE for multiple seasons.

I don't think they'd merge, but IIRC MVM do handle at least some of ATA's logistics, as they usually seem to do the shipping of orders from memory.

Looks like MVM have some of their pre-order pricing up, cross over with ATA with some titles. Wonder if we'll see an MVM/ATA merger sometime? they must be competing for business, may allow them to consolidate licensing and buying power.

That would be unlikely as their business structure is very different. MVM is run by 2 people who as far as I know still run the business with no other employees.

For a long time the anime licensing part of the business was just about breaking even/small profit and used to get sales for their mail order business.
Now it's almost certainly their main income provider now as the shop had dropped a lot of their non media lines.

I just saw that Clannad and Clannad After Story are getting a UK blu-ray release from Manga (RRP £60, ~£45ish pre-orders), which surprised me :)

I finally managed to get a start on season 4 of FMP! and this looks really good!
A couple of episodes in and it was feeling like season 1 but with the more serious nature of season 3, by episode 4 it was very good.

I suspect I may end up watching it in quite short order over the next couple of days.

FMP isn't one I've seen any of yet, I'm just wrapping up some stuff from my previous list, so I may as well post another viewing update.

I love to hear opinions on stuff I'm seeing or plan to watch, so any comments are always welcome, otherwise feel like I'm typing into the void! :)

Finished:
  • ID- INVADED - This was really good in the end, a solid Inception x Source Code x Minority Report style murder mystery. If you like Nolan films you'll probably like this.
  • My Next Life as a Villainess- All Routes Lead to Doom! - I loved this one the best of all the stuff I am watching, with ID: Invaded a very close 2nd. This was a fun anime recommend it.
  • FLCL - This was a bit too WTF for me. Stopped watching it a bit into ep2, not for me.
Continuing:
  • My Hero Academia - Prepped to start Season 4. I think this is really well made, my only gripe is that it's got no end in sight, and the story isn't as good in Season 3 as the promise in Season 1 demonstrated. I am less interested in watching more of it than I was early on.
  • Assassination Classroom - I'm really near the end of Season 2 now, a few eps to go. This is an enjoyable, funny, and sometimes heartwarming adventure along side the assassination class.
  • New Game! - I have finished Season 1, onto Season 2. This is pretty good but imo not as good As Kobayashi. I need more Kobayashi.
  • Trigun - Just 2 eps in so far, like what I've seen so far. Proper old-school anime reminds me of NGE graphics. The OP song is really jazzy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OxFSy8G5wk
  • Re-CREATORS - I've just started this on episode 1. Like what I've seen so far, really good opening ep.
Planning to watch (short list - roughly in order probably. Bold = starting imminently):
  • Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunnygirl Senpai (planning to start soon but don't like juggling too much, I may pause MHA to start this).
  • A Place Further Than the Universe
  • School-Live!
  • From the New World
  • Great Pretender
  • Akame ga Kill!
  • Jormungand
  • Psycho Pass
  • Jujutsu Kaisen

I'm not necessarily surprised you found a flcl a bit to wtf, but for me it was always the wtf that help make it :)

I need to watch My Hero, as I think I got to the end of season 1 and didn't remember to pick it up again, whilst akame ga kill is one that I really need to watch some time.
School-Live! is fun, but I wish they'd made more of it, I think the manga goes a lot further.

I've finished FMP Invisible Victory and that was really, really good, it felt like the best parts of season 1 and season 3, and moved the story on a lot but I'm now really, really hoping they do a season 5 sometime soon and not wait 4-6 years (although given they're releasing the light novels in a new translation I take that as a good sign).
I'm going to go through the extras on that tonight as it's got some commentaries and so on.

I've been watching Kuma Kuma Bear which looks fun, and Sleepy Princess in the demon castle is just plain fun as Sya wanders around single-mindedly looking for ways to improve her sleep whilst more or less ignoring the fact she's meant to be a hostage.

Next up is probably Kill La Kill, or The Promised Neverland season 1 as they're on the pile in front of me :)

Biggest problem with MHA imo is that it's good, but it's not great. It's very nicely made, but I have probably just grown out of shonens being the type of thing I want to watch a lot of. I'll probably finish it though, and same for Hunter x Hunter.

FMP in general is something I need to try, the length of it being longer than a lot of things means I'll need to find a good time to start it though.

Kuma Bear and Sleepy Princess both look like good fun, and Sleepy Princess is definitely on my to-watch-list :)

Have you seen My Next Life as a Villainess? If not I think you'd enjoy it.

KLK I loved, I assume you may have seen it at least once? I wish I could forget it and watch it again. TPN is showing Season 2 at the moment I think, I still need to watch Season 1.
