The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

I can't help but see the MF in MF Ghost and that is the 1st thing that comes to mind.

Kingdoms of Ruin is extremely edgey, but quite fun if you take it for what it is and don't take the edginess too seriously.

Yes though that feels a lot less edgey to me, Berserk of Gluttony feels like they've merged in several other popular anime into one creation.

It has the feel of MC being Kirito from SAO, with the knight girl from Danmachi, and the sword from Reincarnated as a Sword, probably some themes from others in there like the evolve stuff out of Slime.

Really I'm watching far too much this season but struggling to find good older stuff to watch as I've seen basically everything I can think I wanted to see.

Know that feeling. Think I may binge watch Kingdom as season 5 starts in January.

Am also watching Mother******* Ghost! Fun so far even if racing isn't usually my thing.

You can tell MF Ghost is the sequel to Initial D with the art style, fan service and Eurobeat.

Was going to give it a miss but watching it for sure now you said that lol.

Helck is quite funny but kinda light hearted.

I think people need to chill out over the whole "Oh its unrealistic the GT86 shouldn't be able to compete with xyz car", the premise is people don't really "drift" in MFG as its very touge-grip driving..until the main character is introduced.
The fun part is them going "WOW he is tackling them corners like a mad man, never seen this before!", my only complaint so far is they brought in Kogashiwa who knows about drifting but never mentions it in the commentary.
Overall I am having a fun time watching this, purely because its fun and also it makes the GT86 look cool, if people want a more "serious" driving anime there is overtake! that is also airing on Sundays.

I don't think anyone here is complaining about this? Not sure where this has come from.

I don't tend to read too much into shows online if I'm actively watching them, and I'm certainly not really into racing usually so no idea how good the car is vs the euro power cars you see most drivers in the anime driving around.

The show does make a point that his car is weaker on power than the others.

Finished Mashle…not on the same level as OPM, not even close. Rises a few laughs but the cream puff joke is wearing a bit thin towards the end.

Watching Hells Paradise…5 eps in…does this get better or more interesting?

Not sure what else to watch…might have to watch a Gigguk video for some ideas.

I struggle with anything too comedy focused, I find the more natural/less forced comedy more interesting, so I didn't bother with Mashle because I could see it wasn't going to be for me.

Hell's Paradise, if you don't like it after 5 episodes I'd drop it. What are you in the mood for?

My top picks from season before last:

Oshi no Ko - This has the most daft premise, but the intro episode is an hour long mini-movie essentially. Good quality animation with an interesting hook that sets up the rest of the series.
Gundam: Witch from Mercury - It's a Gundam!
Heavenly Delusion - This is a wild ride of twists and turns, some scenes viewers may find disturbing. This is post-apocalyptic dystopia with a soft of Last of Us feel.
Hell's Paradise - So far as style goes I liked this one, you mentioned you didn't, but it was one of my favs in this season.

My top picks from last season:

My Happy Marriage - This was a high quality production, romance themed anime with some supernatural themes.
Undead Girl Murder Farce - I don't want to spoil it too much but essentially this is a mystery themed anime with some action/drama.

My top picks from this season (so far):

Frieren - Very high quality production, ponders the concept of time for an elf mage girl named Frieren who lives far longer than everyone she meets/befriends, for her a mere decade has passed, for the people she journeyed with, this was a huge chunk of time.
Shangri-la Frontier - It's gaming focused but you spend most of the time inside the VR MMO world of Shangri-la, I like this one a lot, and the animation is top quality.
Apothecary Diaries - This is growing on me more as we go along, it's set in an Ancient chinese imperial court, and essentially you see a PoV of Maomao, a girl who is kidnapped and sold into slavery, doing her best to blend in and not cause ripples, but unavoidably causing ripples anyway.
Under Ninja - This is quite a unique watch and certainly goes into a more experimental style than most of the others I've listed. This is set in a world where ninjas are everywhere and they have underground shenanigans going on which normal people aren't meant to know about.
MF Ghost - Mentioned lately but it's entertaining, successor to Initial D, so expect cars, drifting, eurobeat, and fan service.
Undead Unluck - A girl who has a power of unluck, anyone who touches her dies, and a guy who is undead. who can't die, team up together to work out how to kill the undead guy.

Worth mentioning:

Eminence in Shadow - This can't be taken too seriously but is quite a fun watch if you can mesh with the concept, which is that Cid Kagenou, is trying to play the role of the background/mob character who controls events from the shadows, but he often winds up becoming the centre of attention by accident or misunderstanding.
Reign of the Seven Spellblades - This is basically a Harry Potter ripoff in lots of ways, less comedy than Mashle, more actual attempt to steal as many copyrights as possible from HP author.
Dead Mount Death Play - This is ongoing currently but is quite a fun ride, it's the same creator as Baccano and Durarara, so expect quite a wide cast of characters, and some larger than life identities, all mixed into one area, competing with each other.
Birdie Wing - Golf X Mafia mix and match. Quite a fun watch with some crazy things going on.
Mushoku Tensei - Continuation, though weaker than the 1st series. Apparently kicks up again next season.
JJK - More JJK
Bleach - More Bleach TYBW.

Only seen it from a couple of youtube videos, but realistically a "lightweight" 200hp car Vs cars with 400+hp that are also pretty nimble in their own rights the 86 doesn't really have a chance. I mean what they have shown so far reflects it right now, he isn't going to be reaching the top 5 spots in round 1.

That's a good list, thank you for writing that out. I think I will start with Oshi No Ko I think....I did like Mushoku Tensei season 1, I heard S2 isn't as good but I do want to know what happens....

By the end of episode 1 which is the hour long special, you'll know whether you're interested in watching the rest as well.

At some point you may as well watch the rest of MT then as there will be a follow on series I think at some point, it's not that it's dreadful it's just there were better things airing in that season.

Yeah that's fine, I'm finding it entertaining, it's probably good if he doesn't get 1st place.

That's my logic too, if I am not hooked then I just move on.
