The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Can anyone explained what happened in the last episode of JJk?

so I guess the bad guy won? He released a curse that caused a blackout, but why gojo and co was declare accomplice and death sentence placed on them? By the JJK academy no less?”
I believe the blackout may be because of the woman that just came, Yuki?
Death sentence because Gogo and the guy with glass delayed the execution of yuji and because of him, sukuna went on a killing rampage. And the higher ups are idiots as well.

I thought...

the blackout happened after that curse with that giant symbol over their heads which then expanded? Everything got confusing after that point and I just didn't get it.

I've read a few spoilers and one of her techniques is a black hole. I'm assuming that blackout is a black hole though I could be wrong.

Went to see The Boy and the Heron (Dubbed) on NYE, really enjoyable and i loved it. pretty good turn out in the cinema as well.

What are people looking forward to in the new season?

My list isn't complete, I imagine I'll add another 2-3 as we go along and I see what comes out.

Continuing (from current season):

Just finished the penultimate ep of BES, it's been reaaaaally good. Though probably the first i've watched since Arcane a while ago.

I don’t watch anime as a hobby, just an occasional viewer, and I watched ‘Chainsaw Man’ over the last 3 days.

… I’m not too sure what to think!

The animation and imagination behind some of the action and creatures was fabulous - I love when so much effort is put into something, like all the brilliant outros and the music.

The lead, Denji, was likeable and relatable to some terrible, embarrassing iteration of myself that I try to suppress. At times, I cringed hard at it being an absolutely shameless teenage boy’s fantasy (and awkwardly sexist), but with that said I have to admit… I quite enjoyed the ridiculous yet fresh motive of ‘doing it all’ to fondle some boobs :D

The series did lose me a bit where it jarringly ‘escalated’ with stacking on new enemies and ridiculous powers, particularly when it’s not fully explained. I sort of ‘zone out’ when anything and everything can happen and fun things start to become ‘brooding’.

It also started to get in the territory of “that’s classified (withheld from the audience) info!!!” towards the end, which is an immediate stern mark down for being a tease / lame.

I’d check out series 2 if it ever came to be… but ‘keeping it light’ would suit it well :)

You'd possibly like the other show MAPPA put out, Hell's Paradise:

Thanks for the recommendation, I did watch the trailer - might give it a whirl!

Like Chainsaw Man it looks so… wacky and violent, so I expect it might be equally uncouth and shameless :o :D but I supposed you have to appreciate it for what it is and not be so self-conscious!

Yep it's anime, it's one of it's hallmarks really, for good or for ill!

At least they look age appropriate in this, some anime, really do not...

For something not too over the top you might like black lagoon. it has some wild characters and the only probably uncomfortable bit is the twins.

Sidenote: As damaged as Revy is, still one of my all time favourite "best girls" lol

Finally finished Goblin Slayer season 1 and thought it was pretty good

Anyone watched the second season? any thoughts?
Yes, pretty much trash compared to season 1. A lot of the 'action' is toned down, wouldn't really bother.

Edit: saying that, quite a few went downwards.
Shield Hero season 2 was trash
Vinland saga season 2 was trash
Dr stone 2 wasn't exactly trash but man started building anything he wants

Did you get past the first few eps, I thought season 2 of Goblin Slayer got better later on, actually went back to goblin slaying instead of babysitting. Saying that, it's kind of a ronseal type anime, does what it says on the tin, with little to really set it apart.

I really enjoyed chainsaw man, so adding this to my list, thanks!

Yea I did, but there were sense of danger like season 1. Is that an elephant? If you know what I mean, just so poor.
