The Aokigahara forest in Japan

your brother sounds pretty ghoulish if that is the reason he wants to visit it hoping to find a suicide victim.
the exact quote that I posted before literally says your brother wants to illegally camp overnight in the forest because of its reputation as a hotspot for suicides. How is it my interpretation that's at fault?
wanting to visit because of its reputation and wanting to actually find a suicide victim are completely different things. he 'literally' did not at any point say his brother wanted to find a suicide victim.

Here you go fellas:

Can you go bang it out so the rest of us can discuss this interesting place? Thanks.
yea it's weird there are some on here seem to have developed a strange form of faux offence at the op's brother wanting to camp there.

i read the reason for it becoming popular as a sucide hotspot was the natural silence and seclusion. it's apparently eerily quiet in it due to the tree density. (the video linked earlier mentions this too - densly packed trees, little to no wind, little wildlife = quiet and spooky)

Where did I say I took offence?

Does anyone know why people specifically go to this forest to take their own lives? Is there's some cultural significance?

(I watched a Vice documentary on it years ago, can't remember much though)

Actually, here it is:

Sobering video. I thought the guards voice had a calming effect, he came across as a caring dude.
