Apple HE Discount Price Post-VAT Rise

Prices Correct As Of 05/01/11

I've just been on the HE website and screenshoted the current prices. These are correct as of 05/01/11 (so are at the new 20% VAT rate), though I'm sure we're all hoping that Apple will be jumping on the Sandy-Bridge bandwagon soon and thus making these screenshots out of date!
If anyone wants any model configurations in detail just shout - there's enough of us here that can access the HE store!

I didn't pay that much more than that price when I bought my 27" iMac over the phone with i7 upgrade (with my HE discount). I also bought an Epson Printer and an 8GB iPod Touch and it was only around 1500 in total from what I remember, that was before getting my money back on them with the deal.

Either my memory is playing tricks on me, or I was quite nicely undercharged.

Im thinking about ordering a macbook air over the telephone tomorow cant be bothered going into uni. Will they need proof im a student??

They will, and what they did in my case is send an email to my university address (.ac.uk) which I had to respond to. That was sufficient verification for them when I ordered over the phone.

Also! Don't forget to ask them about the Tricare (like Applecare but without the telephone support), basically its an extra 2 years warranty on top of the 1 year you get the with the Air. And its free for HE.

But if you take out Applecare (i.e. this includes the telephone support) then they would charge you for it.

I personally saw no need for the telephone support, so I just stuck with the Tricare support incase anything hardware wise goes wrong.

Hope that helps!

I asked the woman about this but she had no clue what i was on about so i just left it. I just checked the warranty page and it says im covered for a year and not three :( have they cancelled this or was she just playing stupid??

could someone that is on campus please post screenshots of the "configure" page of the base mac pro.

interested in the cost of processor upgrades.

thanks

The guy I spoke to as well had no clue. It seems the majority of the sales guys either "play dumb" or genuinely don't know about it. The only way around was when the sales guy I spoke to went off and checked with his colleagues/superior.

Worth looking into if you're in for the long haul with an Apple product :)
