The Apprentice 2008

Thats correct, they are both special projects managers at Viglen HQ in St Albans. I often have to share a canteen with claire and lee, i have to put my headphones on as claire hurts my ears :( Thing is the final episode is next week and both of them are still here so i at a bit of a loss as to what the exact situation is.
Cool, what have they been up to? Heard much?

**IDIOT PROOF SPOILER ALERT**

Cool, what have they been up to? Heard much?

I dont really listen in but they just talk the normal canteen chit chat and the like and sometimes talk about the show, you have some of the company arse lickers that like to cling on to them but i've just treated them like i'd treat any other colleague, just say hello and thats it. i havent been compelled enough to try to talk to them as i'm not THAT interested. I was supposed to be interviewed by Bordan but he didn't have time, that would have been very interesting!

Er, does that mean then that both Clare and Lee win next weeks task?!! Thanks for ruining it! :p

I think one does win it but i'm not sure what the exact situation is. i'm hardly giving anything away, it's easy to see who's going to win. Wet-lettuce man alex and the pop-eyed bird are hardly going to set the world alight.

Thanks for ruining the result of the final task. You could have at least put a potential spoiler warning.

That is quite interesting about the finalists working for him for 6 months. The question I have always wondered is what do they do in the weeks running up to the final? When there are 13/14 of them, do they have jobs set by SAS during the week with a main task on 1 day of that week, or do they do other things. Anybody know?

I wasn't particularly surprised to see Lucinder go, though I really thought Lee and Helene would join here. I never really thought Sur Alan would fire Claire either, even though she will aggravate everyone she works with. And what on earth was Karen Brady doing on there? She's a crook, allegedly

I am dissapointed at the prospect of a 4 player final, and feel it was a cop out. Then again it probably confirms that Suralan learned nothing positive from any of the tasks and he needed the six months between then and now to make a real decision. The final task will be meaningless.

And to sign off the post, a Lee style ;).

It's definitely between claire and alex (as I predicted weeks ago :)). I think I'd prefer alex to win though as claire seems slightly fake with the constant "I have changed" thing.

Glad lucinder finally went. She would be a disaster working for anybody.

Why does everyone spell Lucinda with an "er"?

She would not be a disaster, she's quite clearly one of the more able in this series. Both this job, and Lucinda herself, are better off for her not winning.

Teams in the final is absolutely farcical and this show is getting more annoying every time I watch it.

The editing is absolutely ridiculous. Everything we are shown is with the express purpose of misdirection and making the boardroom reveal more exciting. I don't watch the first half of this show for the boardroom preparation - I watch it to see who is the best and so I can support them. This has become absolutely ridiculous due to the frustrating editing and it makes forming balanced opinions impossible yet it makes forming rubbish opinions easy.

What was clear and independent of the editing was that lucinda doesn't work well in teams when she is not the pm. She admitted this herself and admitted that the others didn't like her. This makes me think (and the majority of those interviewing) that she wouldn't work well as a permanent employee.

If Lucinda became my boss/manager/whatever, I wouldn't be able to take her seriously. She comes across as someone who would temp in a call centre. I have no idea how she manages to get a £100k+ salary.

Well, she works for General Electric, who are a pretty big company, and notoriously difficult to please. My suspicion is that SAS thinks if she has survived (even succeeded) in that environment she must have something.

Oh for sure, but what I'm getting at is that over the course of the series she hasn't really shown anything. When asked why SAS should keep her on, she keeps falling back on her CV - she can't think of anything from the 10 tasks to support her case. A few months later and I'm no closer to understanding why she should become the next apprentice other than the fact that she's been successful in the corporate world, which should have been apparent from her career history on Day 1. At least with most candidates you can look at how they've handled the tasks and say "she's good at sales", "he's full of drive and enthusiasm", "she's a good leader" or whatever. Helene hasn't really done anything to stand out.
