The Apprentice Series 7

I dont know why Sugar bothers with tasks if he's just going to fire people based on what was presented on their CV at the very start, like he has done the past two episodes.

he doesn't like engineers apparently

''i've never met an engineer who's succeeded in business'' was sort of what he said

......ok lord sugar

OMG did you see what Lord Sugar said when he fired Glenn? Then switched over to BBC2 to watch "your fired"... the last sentence he said to Glenn was totally different on each of the programs. Two different lines about engineers.

Editing facepalm.

Also I mad because I'm an engineer.

Edit ^^^ that was one of the lines. The other was about "a leopard never changing its spots blah blah engineers".

he's ''never yet managed to find an engineer who has successfuly managed to turn their hand to business''

i must tell cecil duckworth

It's a moronic thing to say, can't remember the exact stats, but most board members of FTSE 100 companies are either engineers or accountants.

It came down to not believing Glenn could bridge that gap, rather than not believing that any engineer could.

Zoe once again awful, I'd have fired her for that name. Imo Helen is now looking pretty sharp.

Lol at Susan's comment next week: 'Do the French love their children?'.

I think Lord Sugar got it very wrong when he was going on about over 60s being insulted at being told how to use a mobile phone. Obviously he has never met either of my grans, one of whom keeps a list of phone numbers sellotaped to the back of hers.

Anyway just about to watch Your fired as long as it is on iPlayer by now :D

Gotta say it seemed very bizarre firing, one of the strangest ever.
Couldn't really pin anything on Glen who seemed to fight his corner reasonbly well, then he randomly goes "Engineers suck, you're fired" out of the blue without even having given a summary on Jim
Heck even Glen in the taxi didn't seem to know why he'd been fired. LS bangs on sometimes about "don't tell me what you've done in the past, I want to know what you've done on this task" and then makes a decision that had absolutely NO relevance to anything that happened this week. They may as well have not even bothered doing the show.

Anyway as for the general show, the study group they did with the elderly made me cringe, they were talking to them as if they were aliens or very young children, some kind of demented group. "Would you like crosswords to help your memory?!?" do me a favour, the guy has just told you he reads the Economist, he probably still knows what day of the week it is.

Personally I didn't think Hip Replacement was THAT bad a name, I mean the focus group was basically saying don't patronise us, coming up with names like "Zimmer", something a bit jokey.

I think the other team got quite lucky, their magazine actually came out looking decent in terms of the design and presentation (no doubt due to the DTP experts as much as them) even if some of the content was questionable.

Also, regarding the firing. While it seemed like he did nothing wrong, for me the problem was he never seemed to do anything. I think that he is someone who could never win the competition (although neither could Susan probably). Jim stands out though and is very good at selling/negotiating (apart from this task). What is Glenn good at?
Lord sugar has probably started looking towards "who could win?" over "who was the worst?"

But they stated that the newly retired was their target market. We're not talking about people like your gran here I don't believe. Imo it was incredibly patronising, especially Suzuki LMAO.

I uses to think Jim was good at negotiating, but he fluffed the rubbish task last week and now this.
