The Apprentice - Series 8

Indeed.

I think if a candidate did meet such an unprofessional interviewer, he would probably turn down the job, even if it were offered.

The worst was when a candidate (I think it was Stuart Baggs), offered a handshake to the interviewer (which is standard procedure in virtually all interviews) and the interviewer declined his hand-shake. That was shocking.

As irritating as Stuart Baggs was, that's pretty rude and condescending.

I don't get the unnecessary aggression by Sugar and many of his cronies. I think he's stuck in the mindset where he thinks aggression equals success.

These people seem to sell their souls to work for this guy, who to be fair, isn't even that successful in the grand scheme of things.

(Not shaking hands) Is a tactic used to throw them off their game.

The interviewers know that the candidates are nervous, so anything they do that doesn't conform to the norm totally destroys them.

The grilling questions are there to weed out the lies, and to test their knowledge of the business plan. If you're prepared then the questions wouldn't be that bad. It's just 90% of candidates go in without fully understanding business talk.

The classic example being gross profit vs net profit.

That just looked really awkward. Why does she have a handbag with her as well!? Keep her keys and her phone on her...

48 hours to familiarize themselves with their own business ideas... wut!? Surely they should know everything about it when they pitched to actually get on the program...

I thought that was a bit strange. Maybe they had to pick some kind of business plan out of a hat at the start of the series? LOL.

Business ideas in the spoilers!!!

Nicks idea - Online recipe shopper.

Tom - Hedge fund for wines.

Jade - Open UKs largest telemarketing company (leads from purchases).

Ricky - Ethical and professional recruitment organisation. a.k.a a recruitment agency.

What the ****?!?

It certainly wouldn't throw me off my game. I would just think that the interviewer is going out of his way to be rude, which is completely uncalled for.

A good interviewer will put the interviewee at ease and give him/her ample chance to answer the questions. A good interviewer must extract information out of the candidate. Being rude to a candidate IS NOT good interview technique.
