The Apprentice - Series 9

As the series' have gone on I've become more sceptical about the whole show especially now that the business partnership is the prize. I really don't see how many of the tasks contribute to running a good business. I get he feeling the majority of the show is for the public while LAS fires the idiots and keeps the ones with promising business ideas until the final.

Its entertainment.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
You mustn't take this show so seriously.

A.Sugar gets some publicity.
The contestants get publicity and possible investment.
The viewers get entertained.
BBC gets some good viewing figures.

Everybody's happy. :)

...t and he does seem to have an issue with women... its likely cultural tbh...

Eh?

The girls were playing the sexism card because they were in the boardroom and wanted something to use against their opponent. If he was such a sexist, why would he have given the go ahead for the blonde lady to be sub team leader?

In the boardroom the gloves come off. This is accepted.

I remember a while back, when AS asked why he shouldnt be fired, he said, because the other contestants are taller.

I true sexist would've shut her down the moment she first started arguing with him (which she did from the get go) and told one of his former (male) team-mates to take charge. If she screams/shouts, he would've marginalised/benched her.

I don't blame the contestants for using the sexism card, but I do find it amusing when the viewing public fall for it - it just goes to show how suggestible and easily manipulated people are. They'll believe anything!

I always knew it was entertainment but the new prize has made it all the more obvious and I find myself less able to enjoy it as you can see the puppet master LAS at work much more than before. Still better than 95% of the dross on TV, so I shall continue to watch all be it slightly more removed than the early series.

If you had a valid argument and didn't stick up for your side you didn't show initiative.
If you had a valid argument and did something about it you're not a team player.

Yep.

She was damned if she did and damned if she didnt.
She did the right thing though - she followed the orders of her project manager, which is the correct thing to do. Had she gone the Mall and made a hash of it, I think she'd be fired for making the wrong decision AND dis-obeying project manager.

Lets not forget, AS is still reeling over the Stella English saga, so he would not appreciate a "difficult employee".

Best scene of the series so far. "Can we buy some piping bags off you?" Other woman- "You cheeky ******* *****!"

Business value of motivational speaker compared to that of baking cupcakes... which one contributed to the refund demanded by the client...
