The Apprentice

I reckon thats a dam shame. Syed would have been a colourful addition to the Sugar empire. That magpie flew away to better things.

To be honest I think the actual winner should be ANSELL.

1. He can calm a situation, exert authority and people respect and don't bicker with him. Evidence - Mani and Syed fighting, he calmed it.

2. He can do the hard sale, but much more importantly the soft sale (light cubes etc).

3. People seem to like him, not feel as if they are about to get duped. He is honest.

RUTH is bossy, out for No. 1, and is ultimately not a team player. She would annoy the rest of the team. If her opinion isn't followed she tries to undermine others, or just go it alone.

PAUL - Arrogant as anything. Again won't go with someone else's idea. Incredibly vein, always thinks he's right, he's funny etc.

Michelle - You are joking. She's somehow got to this stage. never shown any amazing ability she just seems to be "OK" at most things, and brilliant at nothing.

(I was massively rooting for Syed though! :( )

I still cant believe michelle is still in - anyone else find the way she speaks ANNOYING, so very ANNOYING. Shes rubbish and will be fired next week.

TBH, I think Ruth is full of it, if she was that valuable as she said to SAS then they would have spent anything/lock her into contract to keep her at her job. Plus she does only sell, she was crap on that task. Fired (Unlikely)

Sayed, yes hes a bit of a moron some times, but he has real potential and his ability to go and make deals from nothing - i thought at least - was pretty impressive. I was rooting for him to go through - for the drama at least - but not to win really.

Paul, arrogant, good salesman, ok organisationally, bit of a ****** but seems he will go throught. Last 2 (Likely)

Ansil, don't really know, seems to have been in shadows a bit and got there through luck of circumstance (like michelle but better). Fired (Prolly)

They are all pretty bad in my opinion - perhaps because anyone who is actually any good gets good jobs and deosnt waste their time on stupid tv programs answering to an abusive old grandad who hasn't had a good product in years :p

Who's to say that her job isn't still open? Her winning it is not certain and never was.

I can't believe what I'm about to say next. For the first few tasks I hated the mortal sights of her. For the last three tasks I've wanted to bang her silly.

OH
MY
GOD
get your eyes checked, NOW.

We actually let out a loud cheer.

We were doing our normal yell at the TV after a bottle of wine had happily went down, started on our second and it was Syed. Thank God, even Nick and Margaret I think smiled at that choice, any respect for SAS would have gone out the window if Ruth went instead of Syed.

Well, two more weeks with no Syed but we still have the Badger (I'm not just praising her as we share names), but I do think that was the worst showing of her so far. Redeemed greatly when she admitted that she is a doer, and not creative. (A mindset I share so I undersand what she means by that).

Pauls team was gonna win right from the get go. These cruise ships are populated almost entirely by people 50+ who don't want all the leaping around doing sporty things, they want to relax and have a laugh in a nicely passed fashion. School sports day Vs Come dancing, was gonna be dancing every day, I'm no coffin dodger, but given the choice, I would have went to the dancing.

I do think Ruth may not be the creative ideas person, she think p a good creative idea, but can identify a bad one. She knew she was going to loose the task, she just had to persorm better on this task (ie not make as many mistakes) than Syed. The entire "I was following orders from my PM" about the Champagne was a prize example in looking out for yourself.

Shock news at the end of the show, no teams next week and 2 people are going.

so we now have a week of guessing which two we want to stay. Ruth for one, not sure about the other, Not Michelle, but Paul or Ansell. Paul has shown how arsey he can be with the House rental and the week before, seems likely to argue aswell after the event. Ansell seems to have fallen into the background. He made that massive balls up with the Plane service task, but he can sell, and works in a team well.

Ruth I'm hoping for. Ansell as he aint as stroppy as Paul aswell.

In a truly funny turn up for the books. I'm hoping it comes down to the last two, then at the end of the show, SAS says "I'm sorry" to Ansell, "Ruth, your hired!" to which Ruth would respond "I'm sorry, but at this stage I'd like to withdraw my application as I've had a better answer." would be comedy. Never gonna happen though.

I thought it was a bit unfair the split of teams, an extra person would have made a difference comparing 3 to 2.

Thats what I though, although I didn't really see either Ansell or Michelle do very much on their team. Paul seemed to do everything.

At least Ruth and syed seemed to both be doing equal amounts of work.

Shame to see Syed go cos he is so entertaining, and to be honest if you are going to remember anybody from this series it will be him; without him the show would have been soo boring. In the program afterwards he didnt seem to be soo full of crap...funny how editing can make people look so bad!

btw what the hell did ansell and michelle do today?they must have been on for a like a minute max in the whole hour.

Im sure they did do stuff, but it mustve been editted out. It doesnt make for good tv if what someone does is mundane, boring and done correctly. Its better to focus on the ****-ups, of which paul's team made very few, if any.

Don't be so sure it won't happen.

I don't know what contract SAS has with the TV company, or what employment contract SAS will have with the winner .... but I would bet my shirt that SAS has an escape route. It may well (almost certainly will) not involve not hiring somebody on the night of the TV final, but what happens a month or two later is another story altogether. You can guarantee that he either has a way to dump a totally unsuitable candidate completely, or will just sidetrack them to somewhere where they may get their £100k for the year, but won't get any real responsibility and where SAS won't be giving them much exposure or training. And this "apprenticeship" isn't (if the candidates have any brains at all) about the £100k. It's about the opportunity working directly for someone like Sugar, in a high profile job, offers.

Getting the job is only the start of the challenge. Making something of it once you've got it is the real challenge.

Just heard Syeds interview on five live (between 1000-1030), worth a listen if you are an apprentice fan. I really think the editors made him to be a lot worse than he actually was....shame really cos he was great for the show; its gonna get boring now as everybody is too serious.

are they put on the internet so u can listen to them at any time?

I think so, go to the bbc website and try and listen to the show from this morning; i have heard other previous shows on their from Radio 1, not sure about 5 live but have a look.

Does anyone know what happened to last years winner, and whether he was still working for SAS or what he did in the year?

It would be interesting to know, I know that the annoying Saira is now a TV presenter or something.

One big advantage of having things filmed in the UK is you can spot exactly when it was filmed by the seasons.

To all those who think the outcome hasn't happaned, its TV - it was
filmed Aug, Sep and October 2005. If you look at the filming you
will see its summer, and the last few weeks when they have been in London,
you can see all the leaves falling from the trees, and everything looks warm,
late summer, early autumn weather.

Definately not Feb, March and April weather, so they are lieing when they say it hasnt happaned yet.

TV - its a big con.
