I agree with Beansprout - Mani desrved it. Ansell probably deserved to be in the frame too, and though I don't like her and can't see her lasting, this week at least Jo didn't deserve it.
Mani's sole saving grace seemed to be that he understood what the concierge service meant, and the others certainly didn't seem to. But despite that, he missed the relevance. I thought Ruth's team had by far the better advert and poster. It's a bit of a shame it was targetted at totally the wrong product, though.
It certainly can be argued that the Team Leader should have met the client. After all, nothing but NOTHING has more relevance than giving the client what he/she wants, and you have to understand what that is to achieve that. And that, after all, is where they went wrong.
But you can't hold the Team Leader responsible for every lack of competence in team members. Hold the Leader responsible for leadership decisions, but you have to assume that team members have basic competence, and totally missing the focus is basic incompetence.
Mani deserved to go IMHO because, based on earlier episodes he certainly isn't the "world class presenter" he says he is .... World Class Bullpoop Artist would be nearer the mark. Never have I seen such dire, even offensive, presentation techniques as he showed in the calendar task.
As I said last week, if this bunch are supposed to be the cream of the crop, it isn't a flattering reflection on the state of the crop. It's not easy to see so much as a single really strong contender. I had thought Ansell, but now I'm not so sure .... to say the least.
