The Apprentice

And even if it is true, it would mean she is an extraordinary risk taker and probably not somebody SAS would want to put in a high position in his business.

If true she should not be considered for the Apprentice job because she is obviously irrational.

According to the show she turned down 250,000 shares (at least £25,000 I would imagine), and turned down the chance to have her job back should she not win. Even if she had taken the offer from her previous job and won the apprentice, she could still have resigned in order to work for SAS.
As I explained earlier, not necessarily. It may well have been a perfectly sensible decision. We don't have the details of the offer .... or the catch.

the catch, she alluded to - she would have to work back with them, therefore she would be unable to capitalize on her newfound celebrity etc

& if her shares were worth 0.1p each it could amount to nothing compared to what she could get through higher earning n such

also @ Sequoia do you like trees or something? and also do u live in india america china or israel?

Yes, exactly what I was getting at. We know there were strings .... but we don't have the detail of what they were. Without that, we can't know if her decision to reject the offer was rational or not.

And even without that, suppose the offer tied her down geographically, but she wants to move location, maybe to London? There's all sorts of possible reasons why turning down an apparently good offer may be rational.

Once again, i'm split on whether to watch The Apprentice Final or UEFA Cup Final tonight! I'm leaning towards the footy as i can always catch up on the repeat on BBC3/4 next Saturday.

I'm afraid i think Butch Badger will win tonight. The other one (can't even remember her name!) is too placid and doesn't really seem to have any visible passion or drive about her.

Been disappointed in the prizes this year, the best one was the cruise one when they got to spend a week in Rome, the others were terrible like dinner in a restaurant compared to the prizes Trump gives his constestants.

Yeah such as Trump giving the winning team a trip to a vault full of diamonds and being able to keep one $30k diamond each!

At least I don't have your dilemna there. If it was a choice between a football match (ANY match at all) and root canal surgery, I think I'd opt for the dentist. :D

But I sure hope you're wrong about the choice. Badger may be a great sales person, and maybe even a great sales manager, but I think she's a one trick candidate, with an aggressiveness that she seems unable to reign in and control. Look at her interview technique for an example. AS wants someone to run a company and yes, aggressiveness and drive have their place provided they are under control, and used at appropriate moments. You certainly need drive, and a backbone, and the ability to make and implement decisions you don't like, but you also need to be able to build relationships, inspire staff and hopefully, engender some loyalty. After all, anyone running a company with more than a few staff needs to be able to find people to whom you can explain what you want done, and be confident that they can go away and do it, without needing you to give them an A to Z of how to do it. That requires trust, focus and loyalty as well as sheer dedication and ability. An unabridged focus on sales is too much about "me, me, me" to do that, and that is precisely where Badger (IMHO) falls down .... badly.

Of the two, Michelle strikes me as by far the better bet, but it'll be interesting to see how they both get on tonight. I certainly wouldn't put any money on the outcome, though if it was my choice, there'd be no need for a final episode.

I actually didn't mind Ruth too much but after seeing the interviews she really came across badly in them and in the boardroom meeting afterward she just seems obnoxious. I personally thought Ansell should still be in but I guess out of the two of them that are left Michelle should and will win.

Ruth seems simply too full of herself and too aggressive. Michelle on the other hand seems devoid of personality. Bring back Ansell :(

Id like Ruth to win, but I think Michelle will do it as SAS seems to like her better??? But you also need to consider how they are doing working for him since they stopped filming.

Also, from looking at the previews last week, I think Michelle has Paul, Syed and Sharon in her team! Cant stand Sharon.

Yeah really. Ansell was the coolest one there.
