Once again, i'm split on whether to watch The Apprentice Final or UEFA Cup Final tonight! I'm leaning towards the footy as i can always catch up on the repeat on BBC3/4 next Saturday.
I'm afraid i think Butch Badger will win tonight. The other one (can't even remember her name!) is too placid and doesn't really seem to have any visible passion or drive about her.
At least I don't have your dilemna there. If it was a choice between a football match (ANY match at all) and root canal surgery, I think I'd opt for the dentist.
But I sure hope you're wrong about the choice. Badger may be a great sales person, and maybe even a great sales manager, but I think she's a one trick candidate, with an aggressiveness that she seems unable to reign in and control. Look at her interview technique for an example. AS wants someone to run a company and yes, aggressiveness and drive have their place
provided they are under control, and used at appropriate moments. You certainly need drive, and a backbone, and the ability to make and implement decisions you don't like, but you also need to be able to build relationships, inspire staff and hopefully, engender some loyalty. After all, anyone running a company with more than a few staff needs to be able to find people to whom you can explain what you want done, and be confident that they can go away and do it, without needing you to give them an A to Z of
how to do it. That requires trust, focus and loyalty as well as sheer dedication and ability. An unabridged focus on sales is too much about "me, me, me" to do that, and
that is precisely where Badger (IMHO) falls down .... badly.
Of the two, Michelle strikes me as by far the better bet, but it'll be interesting to see how they both get on tonight. I certainly wouldn't put any money on the outcome, though if it was my choice, there'd be no need for a final episode.
