The Apprentice

The link suggest that she was not on a £90k retainer. This figure seems a little ambitious to me, given her position, however, I think the Met office were a little embarrassed that this large salary is being publicised, bearing in mind that it comes under the civil service.

I suspect that she earns close to £90kpa.

Katie will do well out of this. She has already sold her story to the newpapers, for which she wouldve got paid well. I wonder what her next move will be though.

...and what brand might that be? The met office isnt exactly a brand name in itself. Most people dont even know what they do in there.

I'm a little baffled why the met office would be paying someone almost £90kpa to be consulted, with regards to branding?

Exactly, hence the requirement to have a brand consultant. A brand consultant would be trying to create a brand, i.e. something to associate the Met office with, a product or service. This is likely to be weather information to sell to companies such as supermarkets so they know whether to stock umbrellas or BBQs at the weekend.

If that is what her role entailed, then she wasnt doing a very good job.
 
Well I didn't see her - but Kristina was at our workplace on Friday doing promotional work for Viglen in relation to a Building Schools for the Future conference held at Derbyshire County Council HQ in Matlock.

Viglen are owned by Amstrad so got us wondering whether she's got the job or not.

Both Simon and Cristina are working for Sir Alan, the apprentice is filmed in October and November last yeat and the two of them have been working for him since then.

But surely one of them has now been fired since the last episode has been filmed? :confused:

Probably yes. The BBC probably just wanted a sample of that and they've two series worth of them to use.
 
I thought the BBC film both candidates getting "hired" and "fired" back in november then which ever one Sir Alan decides to hire they use that clip in the programme? The "you're hired" bit is always done in the boardroom then (in last 2 series) they've switched straight over to the Adrian Chiles programme where Sir Alan and his Apprentice are sat so that hiring bit isn't live at all.

It's like the bit where people are filmed leaving Sir Alan's office after being fired - they are all filmed on the same day and then the BBC just use the take of the relevant person. Hence most people seem to be wearing different clothes to when they were actually fired in the boardroom (well studio it's not a real boardroom).

Hmm, perhaps i'm taking this programme too seriously.....
