The AQA thread.. mobile phones at the ready

My flatmate works for them. He gets ~30p for every question answered, gets to choose how long he works for and when, and can work from anywhere with an internet connection.

What was the massive thread on similar to this a year or so ago? Some kind of chatroom where you got a member who would answer one question, it got 100% OCUKed

obligatory "Fox loves BMWs comment":

it was probably "My friends tell me that BMWs aren't the best cars, are they wrong?"

I asked how much the RRP of a Honda CBR600RR was and how much it would cost to insure for a 19 year old.

AQA said:
A Honda CBR600F retails at £6,200. Insurance for a 19 year old male ranges from £2,300 to £3,500 depending on location, licence and history.

2-3k :o

Q: Should I ask her out?

About 10 seconds later.

A: You should definitely ask her out. You're doing yourself no favours by torturing yourself over it. And she does quite like you you know.

Just need to decide which one to ask now though.

Q: "i heard you like mudkips... it true?"

A: "AQA does think that the pokemon mudkip is adorable, however it is much more of a fan of the more traditional charmander"

I asked them a question that *really* isn't suitable for a family forum about 18 months ago and the amswer I got was completely awesome.

It would be a pretty cool job answering random questions all day.

Why is the alphabet in the order it is in?

Instantly responded with...

AQA said:
The English alphabet is in that order as it is derived from the Roman one which is taken from a variant of the Greek, originating from the Phoenicians

Although I've actually got no idea if that's correct or not.

Just posting here so it's flagged for later, this is undoubtedly going to be awesome.

I might try chacha.com again in a bit, I've been banned a couple of time though now for abusing the service :o

My other half sometimes answers AQA questions in the evenings and weekends when she's in the mood. Get some very, very strange ones though which she has a good giggle about. They're quite tightly regulated but they're under instructions that if they can't answer your question they've to give you something useful and if they can't answer it properly (it's a daft question) to try to make people laugh.. like questions "should I ask him/her out etc."

how much money she make?

I'm tempted by this for some extra cash/amusement, and I could just post questions here :p

Although one of you may then use AQA to try and find the answer, and then the world would explode :(

I wouldn't mind this as a little side earner.

Ah, they aren't recruiting people from England, only Ireland Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or USA.

Darn and bugger it

Not much but she does it whilst she's watching TV etc. She made about £500 last year doing it when she could be fussed. I think it's about 10p a message, but seeing as some you can answer from their knowledgebase you can get a good run of 5-10 messages without really having to google or wiki anything at all.

There are some people on moneysavingexpert who make far, far more but it's dependant on people using it, some nights theres simply too many people on AQA, then the next day you can get a text saying there's 400+ message in the queue and more or less begging you to log on and answer some! They changed the rules recently so that anyones partner could answer questions too.

They don't recruit all the time but every so often they'll have a recruitment drive.

I was thinking the other day, as you do, about eyebrows and I was wondering why they stop growing.

I mean, if you shave them off and they grow back, how do they "know" when to stop growing? Why don't they just keep growing forever? I suppose it's the same with a lot of body hair I guess.

I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question, I'm just curious that's all.

Someone ask them
