**The ASrock 939dual-SATA2 (ULi M1695) thread**

do i just use the 20 pin power plug connection? or the 4 as well? If I use them both I get nothing, if I just use the 20 pin the fans run and seems to power up? or do I connect the yellow and black 4 plug connector from the PSU to the ATX 12v connector?

I just use the 20 pin and 4 pin, some PSU's have 2 different 4 pin plugs, make sure you use the right one or you might end up blowing your PSU.
 
There is 2 four pins, one is just yellow and black wires, the other is red, yellow, orange and black which is part of the main 20 pin connector just split at the end it seems

Am I right in thinking the multi coloured one is for 24 pin mobos? and I should use the yellow and black 4 pin plug?
 
just turned it on and all i get is a black screen, fans are spinning and lights are on just no output to monitor :( i have a FX5200 in there just now just to get it up and running, the card works fine, so any ideas what could be wrong?

Do the the hard drive(s) spin up?

just flashed to bios 2.10

seems they have added a few memory options that have confused the hell out of me, i had 1.6 before this. can some one help

under bios 2.1 there are around 5 options all with a damn T at the end :rolleyes:

Iv figured out the first and the last are the same but where to i put the 3 and the 6, all the middle options are set to auto at the moment.

you running 2Gb at 1T? First one I see.

What speed do you have in your memory? bios? any special settings?

Why are you running Tras at 5T when 9 or 10 is usually faster in this mobo?

I was able to run 1T with 2x512MB OCZ 3500EB but with the 2x1GB no way even at 200 Mhz (boot to windows but problems with word, flash etc)

I know too many questions ;)

mine was running on 1t just fine on Bios 1.60, I run

and set the burst lenght to 8 and it was rock solid, since iv flashed to 2.10 it wont run 1t and I just cant get my memory stable on anything other then auto everything, which sucks.

think im going to flash back to 1.60 bios

Hello, running 2GB at 1T with bios 1.60? what is the different between burst lenght 8 and 4?

By the way I am using both windows 64 and 32 bits

dunno mate, i changed it and it works, just gone back to 1.60 and it works at 1T just fine, ill stay away from new bios's for a while i think :)
 
Who's done the volt mod?

I currently have a 3000 Venice, at 2.5ghz (700mhz increase) perfectly stable mem at 1T, 3-3-3-8 = 226mhz -Cas wont go to 2.5


Erm, shall I do the volt mod for the cpu? Think it will go any higher also if I remember correctly, once i do the volt mod, i can still go to 1.450v in the bios if wanted correct? Its a certain voltage which is "cracked" to 1.55v? :confused:
 
Hey guys im thinking of getting this mobo along with a 3700 San diego chip.

How well does it overclock in this thing? Are there any issue's with GeiL ram?

Guys,

CPU temps seem to have shot through the roof recently, now I understand its Summer ;) but its at around 45-47c, have put in 2 more fans but its only gone down to 42c.

I touched the northbridge heatsink and it was boiling, is anyone elses really hot??

Trying to think what I can do about it, I've now got 4 case fans to increase airflow but its not going directly over the heatsink.

Problem is the heatsink is directly under the cpu which I imagine is causing the rise in temps.

All other sensors are okish for the ambient temp.
