**The ASrock 939dual-SATA2 (ULi M1695) thread**

No no problems for me.

You sure its not just a software issue

I am running a X2 3800+ at 240X10
Ram is OCZ Platinum at 2-3-2-5-1T at 200mhz, voltage set to high and on a 166mhz divider as well.

sata 3 question

hi all, my 2 sata connections are taken up with 2 hard drives and ive just purchased a 320 ggi seagate barracuda hard drive, can this just be connected straight to one of the sata 2 connectors on the mobo?

That would be perfect as the new seagate is sata2 anyways

That's an old problem with running 1T IIRC. If you're running bios in your sig then get the latest official bios. I am running 1T here and no crashes on that site.

you are a lucky one. Most of us with 2gb can't run at 1T (in my case 272 Mhz at 2T with supertalent PC4000, 1T does not work whatever the speed). However I run at 1T with 2x512MB at 227 mhz

what speed are you running your memory at? any tips about your memory configuration?

mine wont run stable or much else with my particular ram,on the new bios's.The best for me is current ocw beta1, ive not had problems with the usual tests for flash site problems, but this little site highlited for me.

Might be worth trying to set the Burst Lengh option in bios to "2" This allows my 2x1024 corsair 3500LL to work at 1T stable. There was no method to make my 2x512 3200XL working though :/ always fails memtest 8

hi, ive got two sata hard drives installed already on my pc. just added a sata2 barracuda hard drive using the sata2 connector but its not being recognised. am i meant to do something in the bios?

hmm ive done this and ill play with it for a while.Im sure its been answered before but what does setting this to 2 beats do? and is 8 beats or 2 beats faster?

My understanding of that setting is that its a Compatability option, not a performance option. There are no measurable speed differences between the settings. It actually sets the 32byte Granularity to on or off, its just names different on our boards. 2 =on 4 = on and 8 = off. Researching this option appears to say that 4 shou,ld = off too but maybe thats for single channel and 4 = on for dual, but ive not found information to say such. 2 was the magic number for getting me 1T stable with my new memory anyhow but wont neccesseraly be the magic number for everyone as I mentioned, I still cant use my 2x512 set of 3200XL at 1T but thats gone back in my nf7 now ;)

Need more info mate

Are you trying to install windows on it? and its not being detected? HAve u got the drivers and f6 before install?

have you got windows on the other hdds and this is storage option. you will need to format it in disk management in windows xp.

Also I set the hdd mode to IDE instead of SATA, meant i didnt need the drivers during the install either. I dont think its any slower because of it

Yes it should, i cant overclock at all with 1T, but 2T i can get 2.5 stable. Is there much difference anyway?

Also i got no answer before so ill ask again, does anyone know why, when i plug my ipod in, a yellow pop up tells me it would perform faster in a usb 2.0 port.

Ive installed the usb drivers and im on sp2 ?
