**The ASrock 939dual-SATA2 (ULi M1695) thread**

But my ZX will only run at 200 on this board, if the HZ manage 250 surely that should be a fairly decent increase?

have you tried 2T ????

The asrock is not very good running 1T and high HTT speed, specially with 2GB

with my supertalent 2GB with UCCC I can run 271 with 2.7v and 2T. 1T doesn't work at any speed.

need some help setting up an ide hdd slave.
ive got a 74g raptor as my primary, how do i run the ide ?
as master or slave ?

thanks

2T made no difference, will try moving the memory into slots 1+2 as they are currently in 3+4.

If the Raptor is primary on IDE then the new drive should be slave, if it's SATA then I haven't played with those.

i have a ide 40 gig hdd as my master for windows and a 160 gig sata drive as a slave. just set the jumpers on the drive and make sure they are spotted in the bios start screen. mine did it automatically for me when i altered me jumpers.

cheers for that, i forgot to mention the raptors sata & ive got a 300gb ide & another 120gb ide , would i be able to run them both as slave or would i be limited to one slave drive ?

has anybody botherd getting the add on bored for this - i was pondering the idea myself.

AM2 bored for around £30? could also use DDR2 ram , i was thinking though that the layout of the bored (it going through a biged up AGP slot) would considerly hinder its performance ?

any thoughts on this ?

I think if you're going to shell out for an AM2 processor and DDR2 ram then you might as well get a board that will do the job properly. I don't like the idea of hanging a heatsink from a board at a 90deg angle to the mainboard.

I know what you mean, and not only that but your very limited to what heatsink you can use, I can just picture trying to attach my scythe ninja to that tiny board :D

No. Like on any other mobo simply setup the IDEs as Primary Master & Slave (i.e. through jumpers at the back of HD & on same IDE cable). The Raptor SATA drive will be independent of this. But in the BIOS (under 'Boot' screen/tab), make sure its selected as the first hard disk (under 'Hard Disk Drives') ;)

Im using an Arctic freezer on the board, surprisingly light, cool, no worries :)

G.Skill HZ arrived today, straight in at 250MHz, 3-4-4-8 1T. 1M SuperPi is 28.796s and 32M is 26m 25.219s.

Not much in it really, the HZ are ever so slightly faster at 250 than the ZX at 200.

Nice, this 3500ll I have won't do 1T at all. Have you tried memtest86 yet? I thought mine was stable till I ran it for a few hours :( first 4 passes went without a hitch, 5th onwards errored badly on the same test. It was always windows stable, never wanted to take the chance of running my main system with the errors.

have you tried setting a Burst Rate of 2 ? That setting got my 3500ll memtest stable in 1T.

well that is up untill just recently where now my mem fails all memtests and am gonna have to rma now :/

and just yesterday, the floppy controller has given up so I cant use floppy drives no more. Not sure how much longer my my main machine is gonna last.

has anyone had an issues with pci-e cards on this board?

basically i installed a his x1900xt 256mb on it and booted pc windows loaded and about 5-10mins after loading i get a plain colour screen sometimes red sometimes green sometimes....... and i have also had a verticle bank of lines in plain colours

but the really odd thing is that windows is still operating behind this mask of colour would a power supply cause this as i know that the card uses different voltages between 2d and 3d modes (but i have never gotten to see the 3d mode :( )

i have also posted a simmilar comment over in the gfx cards forum just hoping maybe another dual sata user has had problems similar to this and can shed some light

btw previously i was using a AGP x800xt pe on the board and that has worked without a hitch

Sounds PSU related. What are the specs, i.e. Watts, Amps on Rails, etc :)
