hi guys,
does the thermaltake XP120 fit on this board?
i am very intereste in it...

It fit's fine.

Got my board today.
Haven't had any time to test it yet, but for people with XP90/XP90C heatsinks, be aware that this board doesn't come with a metal plate which sticks to the underside of the board to which you screw the XP90 retaining bracket.

Instead it uses four push-pins in each corner to secure the heatsink bracket to the board, so there's no way of screwing in your XP90 bracket unless you either,

A: Get a metal plate to put under the board, or

B: Do what I did and use an old P4 478 bracket, which uses four push-pins in the corners and is just the right height and width to attach to the board and use the XP90 heatsink with. :D

With the overclocking BIOS, what kind of VCore and VDimm options are there?

The voltage options are very minimal; you can't alter the vcore above stock; although it seems to over-volt a little anyway. VDimm, you can set an option to high which gives a little bit of extra( about 10% ISTR). This isn't a hardcore Overclockers board but is fine for those of us who want push things a bit.

That's a shame, I accept it isn't an overclockers board but it's the only one offering a PCIe and AGP slot so there is no other alternative :(

And with the limited VCore there is little point to upgrade as I might struggle to get a faster system than my current Socket 754 system at 2450Mhz if I get a bad clocking chip that needs more VCore :(

Could someone please help me my friend is thinking about buying this MB

ASrock website Spec on m/b states AGP voltage 1.5v only and his graphics card is a 9600 requirement for 9600(from ati site) is 1.5v for 4x AGP and 0.8v for 8x AGP will this be a problem ???

Well got my ASRock mobo today and after some issues with my old rig and the nForce not wanting to unistall properly and windows telling me I needed to activate it and i only had 3 days which after 2 reboots was actually no days at all and it wouldn't let me log in.

Anyways after all that I installed the drivers (Audio is surprisingly good) but I couldn't and still can't get my Ethernet controller to work!
I install the drivers restart the computer and its still not working.
I try manually installing the drivers but it says it can find any and when it asks for the location I tell it is CD-ROM and it still can't find any.
I've updated the bios and that didn't cure it (a long shot I know)...

And of course I access the internet through my network so I need the lan to work...

Anyways gave up and bought a PCI network card for £5 and its working fine but I just wondered if anyone else had this problem and if so any idea how to fix it?

oh... Systems specs are:
Athlon64 3000+ venice
2GB GeIL value ram @ cas 2.5 and 1T can't remember the rest.
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
WD SATA II 250GB 16MB cache

P.S. How do I get the SATA II controller to work in SATA mode and not IDE mode?
When i select SATA mode in the bios I can't get it to load windows.

Windows XP Pro 32-bit.

Not sure why it won't work I remember having that problem with my nForce2 mobo but that only required a few attempted driver installs and restarts to get it working.

is it enabled in the bios?

make sure it is.

then do it from device manager

Yeah, its definately enabled in the bios.

It shows up in device manager as an ethernet controller under other devices and shows theres a problem with it ( '!' ).

It just doesn't seem to respond to the driver.

Perhaps try and remove it from device manager and rescan it for it to pick it up again and give you the prompt for driver install - I presume thats the only ethernet driver available for that mobo?
