The ASRock thread [support/feedback/etc]

Happy Christmas from NZ!

A quick question... I've got my Asrock Rack E3c224 motherboard paired with a xeon E3-1231v3 and 8GB DDR3 ECC and it works! The issue is that now I've installed Windows 10 Pro, it will not go to sleep. There are no options within the power settings of Windows 10 and all low power states are enabled in the bios. Does this motherboard support sleep mode? I would have thought so, but I'm a wee bit stumped!

We're checking with the Rack guys - I fear they might be off for Christmas, so any answer might be delayed until after New Year's.

Thanks! I appreciated your reply in my other thread, ordered the QVL memory and it started up like a charm!

I'd be interested to know if sleep works as this is a brand new install of Windows 10 Pro but I only have display shut off in the power options, no sleep settings at all.

No worries about the reply time, its Christmas after all and everyone deserves to get boozed!

Edit:

Thought I'd better add the full system for reference:

Intel Xeon E3-1231v3 with default boxed cooler
Asrock Rack E3C224 motherboard
Kingston KVR16E11/8 8GB DDR3 ECC Ram
nVidia GTX 1070 GPU
Intel 120GB SSD on Port 1
Windows 10 Pro

In the bios I have the onboard GPU enabled and set as primary with the nvidia set as secondary. This was so that I can still get the remote access to bios and boot as the machine will be remotely located with limited phyiscal access. Within Windows 10, to ensure that I get the nVidia GPU working for gaming, the aspeed gpu is disabled (tried to keep it enabled but the headless dongle on the GPU was not working correctly and Windows wouldn't keep the nVidia GPU as primary).

Apart from the GPU position, everything else is a stock install of windows 10 pro.

Edit 2: Also, there is no sleep option on the start menu which my previous vPro setup had...

2017 is just around the corner. Here's something new we've got for you.

Video not working for me? :(

Quick question, i used to have an Asrock Extreme 4 Gen3 i think it was with my old Intel 2500k CPU, it was a fantastic board and i never had any issues with it, wouldnt hesitate to buy your products again in a heartbeat.

Are you guys going to be offering boards for the AMD RyZen series of Chips? AM4 socket i think? Do you have anything you can tease us with in this area? :) Im sure the new AMD chips will be big sellers, so what better way to promote your products than to get in early with some teasers ;)

It's good to see threads like this, it will actually make me consider another make of board. Customer service is always important to me tbh, UK RMA is always good as well, although that would be handled by OCUK if bought from here anyway.

Believe us, there will be teasers as soon as we have something to tease you with. Shouldn't be too far off, although we obviously can't comment on future products.

Cheers!

Hopefully they have some really good AM4 boards for Zen, will definitely be interested in something high end for Zen.
We'll let you know as soon as we can. It'd be odd if there wasn't a full lineup of AM4 boards. :)

The reply I got from our Rack specialists:
"S3 sleep states are more on the desktop boards."

From the manual: Deep Sleep Mobile platforms support Deep S4/S5 in DC only and desktop platforms support Deep S4/S5 in AC only. The default value is [Disabled].

Therefore, S3 is NOT supported, only S4/S5.

I have an AMD FX9590 which was quite happy in a Crosshair non formula V for a year or so until the board decided to break.

I was not keen on spending another £200+ on an EOL socket so I decided to look for a board that supported this CPU without breaking my wallet.

I have had this processor now for six months in an Asrock 970A-G/3.1 running completely stock and reliably at 4.7/5.0GHz and can recommend it as a good solution for the £60+ it cost even if it is not quite so fully equipped in the bios department (v1.2).

I'm looking to Ryzen for my next purchase so I will certainly consider carefully any high end Asrock implementations for the motherboard.

I've found the page you referenced in the E3C224 manual re Deep Sleep, yet this setting doesn't exist in my bios under chipset, see image.

This is down at the bottom of the page and next down arrow will loop to the top. Is there supposed to be this option available? If not, why is it in the manual?

Bios and BMC firmware are at latest that exists on the product page.

I've also got an NTP error that will not allow me to select GMT+13 for the time settings, which is unfortunate as New Zealand is currently 13 hours ahead of GMT!

Let us once more check with the Rack guys.

As for the last part - note that it says first UTC and then GMT in the list, the list too should say UTC, not GMT. New Zealand is UTC +12. :)
