The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Reporting from the graphics forum.

I just got my lovely Inno3D GeForce GTX 780Ti iChill DHS Today and got the high idle clocks when using 144hz (I also had this with AMD but the jump wasn't as big)

Anyway I have a work around for this. Select 120hz in the Nvidia control panel and use that for normal 2d use. Then in the Nvidia control panel make a profile for your games (Global may work but I like to use profiles) and set the fresh rate to "highest available"

Now your 2d hz will be 120 and 3d (gaming) will be 144.

Which graphics card i should buy to use this monitor?) now i have asus gtx 670, i think its not enough :( playing world of tanks and diablo 3

I'm sure it's in this thread some where but hoping some one can help me quickly as I've got a war with the chinese to avoid, my squad is counting on me so need to get back to them.

Ever Since the Titan was taken out (and my amazing monitor arrived) I don't have much time for settings...of course, that's when I'm not busy keeping the PAX ROMANA in Total War Rome 2...

How many of you are using the TFT default settings? 20 Brightness, 50 contrast, 100 RGB? What works best for you settings wise with this monitor? I download the TFT ICC settings and they work a treat...but seems a little off on the brightness..

I am using those settings and I am very happy with it. Image quality wise its one of the best monitors I have used and I am an IPS fanboi.

Changing brightness setting won't impact any other aspect of the calibration so just change it to what feels comfortable for you. The 20 setting was to reach ~120 cd/m2 but it really depends on your personal preferences and ambient lighting conditions

Yeah, i use 20 at night, but in brighter lighting it is more like 50

I also didnt bother with the tftcentral profile, running through some calibration images i fine it just needs a little reduction of the red channel and a fiddle with the gamma

But I thought changing colours IS fiddling with the gamma? How are you changing the gamma? I usually do that by lowering R,G,B.

Yep as per the review the default setup is very good so it won't make a massive difference anyway, but it was there for people to try if they want :)

When I downed the gamma to 90 in NVCP, the monitor feels perfect to me as default it can feel a little overbright, gamma vise :)

Other then that I just play around with the Brightness, around 20 - 25 is what I use!

Starting to see it with stock available in a number or retailers now. Some cheaper than here, but then they don't offer the same panel guarantee and free game as OC are.

Its a nice monitor and does look to be the vanguard of lots of new monitors coming out and finally moving the general tech along :)

Does anyone run this along side a 1080p monitor? I always use dual monitors and I'm trying to find the best match with this one but they are all 1080p. I just don't want wallpapers and everything looking out of place :)

Yes.

If you want wallpapers, just run independent wallpapers for each monitor.
