No way I'll be buying it at £799. £599 is my max - I don't need it THAT much.
He didn't say it was going to be £799, he said that Asus haven't set a final price for the UK, given they have already announced the retail price in USD at $799.99, I highly doubt it will be £799, if it was you'd be cheaper importing one.
I'd take one at £499.99 immediately in April, if it reviews well ... even though better and cheaper competition with better connectivity will no doubt be released immediately after Computex in June. More than £500, I'll wait.
Is there any word on any other manufacturers with similar spec (144hz/1400p) monitors in the pipeline? If there's any chance of getting something within 6 months I'll probably wait as connectivity is definitely a big negative on this monitor.
No, but the chances of Asus' competitors not having an answer by Computex is practically zero.
That sentence makes my head hurt
Spin it positively... the chance of competitors having their own 1440/144Hz answers is very high
I'm pretty sure BenQ have one in the pipe line, can't remember where I see the info ? I'll have a look round for source...
Edit - thing saying its a 1440p & it looks like upgrade kit models of there current line ? :http://www.techpowerup.com/mobile/196646/benq-releases-g-sync-gaming-monitors.html
Edit 2 - looks like there will be more 1440p & 4k g-sync but nothing saying about 120hz/144hz. http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/technology/g-sync/faq
A Russian news site is reporting the price to be 30,000 rubles, which equates to £499
