The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Did you try ARMA 3 with one card? Maybe it's just the SLI thing, I'm single card so may be fine.

I did try with just one card aye. :)

Still not what I was hoping for. I need to do some proper tests with gsync on and off to do a proper re-comparison, but I can already tell the little judders are still there.
Unfortunately I don't think Gsync can fix endemic engine problems, like Arma has had for years.

I'd like to point out it's not all doom and gloom with Gsync though. Still gots lots to test but Crysis 2 and 3 run amazing, as do source games, Hitman Absolution, Tombraider to name a few (all single card AND SLI)

You 100% sure about that? Genuine question. I'm not talking high framerates though here by the way, that's not the issue, I'm talking about Gsync not working properly with SLI running, in some games. There are loads of user reports around the web with people reporting the same as me, especially for BF4.

In BF4 - If I run with one of my Ti's it's lovely and smooth and I can feel and see the benefits of Gsync totally. If I run with both cards in SLI, although the framerate is higher there is perceptible judder and microstutter, totally negating the whole point of Gsync.

absolutely positive mate - gysnc is without a doubt on, silk smooth, no judders or tearing of any kind.

As i said, the only concern is the usage being low.

Have you got another sli bridge to try?

Hmmm. I'm not doubting you bud, I just wonder if some people are more prone to spotting slight judder/ microstutter. I know I am :)

Also, I'm not saying Gsync isn't 'on' with SLI - the red light is on the monitor bottom right, I have vsync set to off in the game, and there is no tearing, so I know it's active. It's just that for some games, like BF4, for me in SLI, it's not smooth. With one card it is. Simple as that.

I do have another SLI bridge to try as it happens. But if that's the issue I will give you one pound!

I have SLI 780TIs and I've not noticed any problems in any games I've played so far. Only thing was a flickering in world of tanks when counting down to battle but that seems to be fixed with the latest drivers. I've not really tried out BF4 or skyrim though. The only FPS I've played was planetside 2 which was perfect with gsync.

If I've got time, I'll fire up BF4 tonight and see how it is.

Cheers bud. Will be useful to get more SLI gsync issue input. As said, it is only some games that have problems.

See this tomshardware piece re skyrim too. This isn't SLI specific, seems some game engines just don't/ won't get on well with gsync.
Also Proves it's not just me, and I back up everything this reports http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/g-sync-v-sync-monitor,3699-7.html

ta for that, not sure if thats my error or not then (not sure what i'm looking for) 6a and 6b look horrible though

this video shows it -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm7lNyv-frk

its like when you stand still in game it looks sharp like 1440p should do, then you move and the lines between the pixels become more visible? resulting in a poorer image than my 1080p 120hz monitor displays, zero issues on desktop

got an rma number anyway

I just unpacked mine, seem to be having a little problem when exiting games sometimes or changing resolutions it goes out of sync - its running 2560x1440 144hz but when it goes out of sync i have to reset the pc. Anyone had this problem?

Ignore, updated drivers and the problem has fixed itself.

that report is 9 months old though, gsync is still very new and will only get better over time.

Some games are just crap and poorly optimised and no sli or gsync will make it enjoyable!

I'll try to test some more games in the coming week, sorry to hear its not running as well as you had hoped

A bit more interesting Gsync/ SLI issues information, perhaps. You know the famous pendulum demo that Nvidia used to first demo gsync?

Well I've downloaded it, and it's great to showcase Gsync and the subtle differences by letting you switch it on, off, vary framerate, compare with vsync etc......But.....there's no way to run it with SLI! I've tried all sorts, and it will only run on one card only. Do you think this is on purpose, because SLI and Gsync has issues, and isn't as good as single card and gsync?

I'm running 3 way SLI and everything is silky smooth for me too, though I'm not running BF4 or Skyrim... I haven't found a game yet on mine that has issues with gsync... touch wood

Just had a quick session on BF4. Everything was silky smooth with framerates varying between 90 and 144 depending on what was going on and which map I was on. I was actually trying my hardest too look for any kind of stutter but there just wasn't any at all.

Have you tried a clean driver install or anything like that?

Same here.

I have capped BF4 at 135 fps and that just makes it butter for me. I didn't have any problems anyway but read that and thought I would give it a go. Not tried Skyrim but will have a play.

I noticed you have some "B" grade swifts. Can you identify the condition of them and is it really only 90 days warranty on something that costs £500+?

prob still be able to return it to Asus..

I would think they would have dead pixels unless OCUK return the ones with dead pixels back to Asus.
